    John Burridge

29/4/1995 - Man City 0 Newcastle 0 "Not a particularly great game this one but there was one performance that sticks out in the mind. John Burridge had been our goalkeeping coach for a while and had gone to man City as emergency cover for Tony Coton. As you probably know, John is a great character and a little off-the-wall at times. There was one occasion he came with me to an estate agents in Durham and a couple of girls recognised me, so I said "Hello". John came over and immediately started to strip off. It was in the middle of December and he stripped down to virtually nothing, showing off his muscles saying to the girls how well he looked after himself and that they should be looking at him. I just cringed in the corner and wished I was somewhere else. In training it was great when John went in goal. Pav and Shaka were both tough keepers to beat but John had seen better days and we used to love firing the ball past him from all angles. When we saw him take to the field for the second half of the match we were really chuffed and confident of getting a result. As it turned out Budgie had an absolute stormer and we couldn't find a way past him. We had to hold our hands up and give him credit for a fantastic performance." From an interview with John Beresford, I think Budgie was our keeper coach when he played against us?

I think, if he was coach here, when he went to city, it wouldnt show up on wiki that he was here, im not certain of the facts, but feel there was something unusual about it.

Think he went to man city from here, I know, he came on as sub for Man city v Newcastle, april 1995, and in that game , he became the oldest prem player at 43....(still hope for me then for a couple of years) I was thinking, during that game, he was either on loan from us, or on our books as Goalkeeper coach.... I may be talking total sh!t tho.

in 1994, he was at Newcastle, and moved to Man city, does anybody kno if this was a loan, i seem to recall he was a player coach here, and made appearences for man city during that time? can any1 clear this up... for no reason, other that a conversation with The Gimp.
  6. You want your cake and eat it too, yes? Eh? I want both parties to be happy - that means him signing with the club satisfied. If he's forced out neither party will be happy, and nor will I. Why are fuckers always trying to cause arguments on here? cos this place is full of argumentative idiots, who argue first, before they understand the facts

  12. nice balance yes, this board is so unbalanced towards pesimism, in in danger of capsizing.
  13. What an absolute load of s***. Wanting the absolute best - fine. Expecting to win the league any time soon - delusion. Cheer up man, its not so bad
  14. Manorpark, you cant beat the pessimists. on here optimism and wanting success are seen as insane diseases that need to be stamped out, by the doom and gloom mongers. I have been caned in the past for backing Kk 100%
  15. The way things are going, we will be lucky to finish in the top six. But, as an "AIM" (objective) ir is PATHETIC. More pathetic than that though, is the increasing (er) 'realisation and acceptance' by fans on here as something as pathetic as that as being "realistic' and 'high enough'. For goodness sake - if you aim low ("top six") you will achieve EVEN LOWER. Does your own experience of your own life not already tell you that?? Keegan for sure wont aim low, 1,3,6,2,2
  16. BUT - on this board nowadays - it IS. It is the only attitude that is acceptable on here. If you do not accept total mediocrity on here, you are attacked mercilessly, by moderators and everybody. It is so frustrating! actually, manor park, I said i didnt undestand your post. I thought you were making a completly diffrent point. i agree with you and the points of your last post 100%
  17. total acceptance of mediocrity, is not acceptable. I agree.
  18. dont fully understand your post. are you saying no-one wants to sign for us?, i dont agree with that, we have already signed onebody, and i expect at least2/3 more before end of window. No one wanting to sign for us (obviously) is 'part' of my post! You say someone has signed for us - yes I know. BUT - who is he - and did we beat Manchester Utd and Real Madrid to his signature? Who is he??? But, my main point is the fact that "Taylor targets pre-planned failure" is deemed an appropriate title for a thread on here!!! Bizzare

  20. Roeder got us to 7th, i think KK could match that at least, 1,6,3,2,2

    Were we unstable?

Dont agree KK is a dinosaur. We will have a monster season next year tho with his attacking football

    Were we unstable?

Under FS we were about as stable as a Pissed OAP ice skating on one leg.
