  1.

He told The Chronicle: "I've not experienced any of that before.

"Winning the league and then all of the Geordie fans running on was an incredible, uplifting feeling.

"They were trying to loft me up and I said to them get me down because I don't deserve it - it is about the lads who have played all season. I've just come in and played a small part.

"I haven't been here for the majority of it, but I have been watching and been in the background.

"I was one of the ones who was there at the start of the season, and one of the ones who wanted to stay.

"Unfortunately, I got injured and haven't been able to play as big a part as I would like.

"I'm just made up. There have been some bad, bad days.

"The fans have been through a lot. We're just glad to put a smile on people's faces.

"It is an eight-hour bus ride and they couldn't fly so they must have had a great journey back with a few drinks.

"They have been magnificent all season and have been our 12th man."

Barton believes Birmingham have set the blueprint for what can be achieved by promoted clubs and it is a formula he has encouraged Newcastle to replicate next term.

"We're back in the Premier League," he added.

"We'll have to take small steps and learn to run before we can walk.

"You look at Birmingham and they didn't win the league last season.

"But we have to feel we can achieve what they have if we work hard."

    Er?

  2. Id keep Hall just for the skill he produced in the corner at Derby, was like watching Messi!!!

Damn, I've never seen that mentioned on here. It was absolutely sensational. Full elastico and left the Derby defender in a heap if I remember correctly.

Gutted I never saw that. :(

  3. Mourinho is a very good manager with great self-promoting skills, Ancelotti is a great manager.

When was the last time Jose lost a home league game?

Ten years ago, and it's only happened once. If I remember correctly.  :pow:

  4. Just looked back at the players involved in our 4 - 0 away win over Ipswich.

    My god.

Khizanishvili, Raylor, Butt, Smith and Ranger all started, and Donaldson even got on at the end.

How the hell did we manage to win that? lol

  5. I went to the game last night. My overall impression was that Villa seem to have a policy of selecting players firstly of skill and technique, Hence half of their team were too small and easily knocked about. Our lads generally looked much bigger and stronger.

I didn't go, but my mate did, and that is almost word for word what he said as well.

I'm suprised with that as all i seem to have been saying for the last couple of seasons when watching the youth team is that we seem on the small side (Andy Carroll obviously being an exception) and struggle against the bigger more physical teams.

Perhaps Villa are just reeeeeally small?

  6.                           Krul

    Simpson  Williamson  Coloccini  Enrique

    Routledge  Barton  Guthrie  Gutierrez

                Ranger        Lovenkrands

Subs:  Harper, Kadar, R Taylor, Nolan, Pancrate, Carroll,  Ameobi

Is what I'd love to see.  Not that that'll happen.

  7. I know the guy's shit these days, but he's been loyal and doesn't talk shite to the media, or does he whinge about being on the bench.

He's been useful to bring on as a sub away from home this season, and I thank him for the job performances and a memorable goal against Spurs (I think it was Spurs) a few years back.
