  1. "United target David Bentley is likely to join Birmingham City after having a “must play every game” clause sanctioned by Alex McLeish, with the second city side also prepared to shell out over £70,000 per week to meet his wage demands. The ex-Arsenal and current Tottenham player was due to have a medical today."

What a complete joke. So glad we let this slip..

I agree that we done the right thing avoiding this disaster, but what makes you think what's been written is true?

  2. You're right, will keep my fingers crossed. Maybe it's Pardew's "tell everyone everything" approach that has thrown me off guard

The man pisses me right off with his spouting off to the press. I shudder to think what he'll be like next time a scandal breaks out or some shit

  3. This decision screams "we don't have a f***ing clue what we're doing" excuse me while i go off to put money on liverpool going down

from your mouth to Jah's ears  thinking of doing the same for the shits and giggles

  4. I am not going "all Neesy" I just think this sounds like many windows before it, I have always been a "wait and see" poster but I am not confident this time for some reason. We seem to be strongly linked to players then it doesn't progress at all. The mail (I think) heavily linked us to Bentley, Pardew mentioned him a few times, next thing we know he is signing for Birmingham on loan without a whimper from us.

The Keane link has also gone dead.

I think we will be strongly linked to a few more players (Ziani this morning) then it will be ruled out/sign for someone else. Hasn't that already happened with Ziani?

Most of the signings we've made under MA have come out of the blue have they not? Who's to say it will be any different this window?

  5. A team isn't made just from individuals who sparkle on their day (Barton, Ben Arfa, Ginola, Robert, Gasgoigne, Dyer etc) - it needs some of those but it also needs some hard workers who don't necessarily catch the eye but will graft hard, be in the right places, be available to receive and give lots of simple passes, and put the running in. When we went down we missed the likes of Jenas, Parker, Milner... and now we're doing well it's with the likes of Nolan and Guiterez in there. Tiote deserves lots of credit, but he's not the whole story.

Absolutely spot on!! Larsson came through the ranks at Arsenal did he not? The boy must be technically sound, so if he's nowt special flair-wise, he can still do the simple stuff well. If he's a good pro off the field, I think this would be a step in the right direction in terms of building a squad. Far far better than acquiring Bentley and the baggage.

  6. Wouldn't mind us just going for a package deal for all of Spurs' s*** players. We'll take Bentley and Kranjcar for 10m and if you ask us nicely we'll even take Keane off your hands. K, thanks.

do you think the price would be cash or A PLAYER ?

    Exactly.

Number 1 we'd not accept 10m for those two, and Levy would 100% ask for Caroll in any package deal.

 well then Levy can go do one

  7. I'm considering running on the pitch, pulling De Jongs shorts AND boxers down and just botting him clean up the arse.

    Suggestions for,

    a) Location of pitch to carry this out on to receive the best possible media visibility to show our anger at his challenge on Ben Arfa

    b) How long to bot him for

    c) Whether to wear a blob

    Cheers

Absolutely no doubt that this is post of the year

      :mackems:

  8. When I was a nipper, Denis Law.

My old man isn't really into footy anymore but he never stops ranting and raving about how good Denis Law was.

He's right. I thought of nominating him myself but I wasn't sure he met the criteria.

I'm trying to think of a modern equivilent to give you youngsters a guide, but I don't there is one.

Gareth Bale? Marc Overmars? only better and for a longer sustained period?

  9. Enrique seems like the coolest guy ever tbh, feels kind of nice to have some sort of "hero" at the club tbh

Seems like he's quite boastful about playing for NUFC. I think he understands the size and potential of the club and loves his time here
