  1.

None of our midfielders are renowned for scoring goals. It's a joke really. Strikers, no pressure but if you don't score no one will.

So true.. just look at the statistic of our midfielders, league appearances (goals) for us:

    Butt 96 (5)

    Duff 49 (2)

Barton 29 (2) [both of them penalties if I'm not mistaken]

Gutierrez hasn't played that many games for us, but he isn't really a goalscorer  1 in 99 for Velez and 5 in 96 for Mallorca

    Then we have Guthrie

    0 in 25 for Bolton

    0 in 15 for Southampton

    0 in 9 for us

I'm pretty sure Guthrie scored at least 1 for Bolton tbf

His rocket of a volley should have won us the Wigan game.

  2. THE SUN'S undercover reporters yesterday captured amazing images of Joey Barton enjoying a pie, giving more weight to the popular theory, that Barton is responsible for world hunger.

    OMG i KNEW it  :weep:

  3. Dear Joey Barton,

It's clear that the British media hates you, and have launched a witch-hunt to get you banned at any cost.

As a Newcastle fan, I beg you....rather IMPLORE you to keep it all on the football pitch. Play hard, and play fair. Your game is picking up, and your influence on our team is massive. Keep your gob shut and your arms down. Walk away. Everytime. Walk away from any scum (cockney, brummie, geordie, scouse or mackem) that tries to goad you into a reaction.

You've done time for doing some horrendous s*** in the past, but that's that. In the past. They want to see you fail, so what better way to flick two fingers back at them all than to do it on the football pitch where it matters. I know you will bleed for the club's cause. So just get on with it and help us win as many games as you can, score as many as you can. It's the only way.

f*** you for previously being an odious little s***, but now you're our odious little s***. Get out there and do a job son.

    Sincerely,

  4. The big lips comment could be in reference to Agbonlahor sticking out his bottom lip as if to say to Barton "stop being a baby".

Tbh, if it was Habib Beye or Shola having his lip poked by a Villa player, I would hope our club would look into it just like Aston Villa are doing now.

No! to be honest I wouldn't give a fuck! It's petty meaningless words that get said on a football pitch. If we're going after players calling another big lips or whatever, why not go after players calling each other cunts or cheats or poofs! the whole thing is a cheap petty ploy to heap more pressure on Barton, and indirectly, NUFC.

  5. But it is reported that Villa manager Martin O'Neill and senior club officials who consulted with American owner Randy Lerner, have examined television footage of the alleged racist abuse and are weighing up their legal position.

Villa's legal advisers reportedly spent several hours examining tapes on Tuesday and are considering employing lip-reading experts.

Agbonlahor's agent, Tim Webb, said: "I have not spoken to Gabby. It was a day off for him on Tuesday because he has such a hectic schedule with Villa and his mobile has been turned off.

"I am aware that Villa are looking into the situation."

    Simply stunning.

Boy oh boy!!! I really hope this Villa officials crap isn't true. They will look like complete fucking idiots no matter what the outcome is. Lip-reading experts? fuck me!! What a joke

  6. Aston Villa racism claim in Joey Barton row with Gabriel Agbonlahor

Aston Villa have requested television footage of the clash between their striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, and Newcastle’s Joey Barton so they can study whether the row was inflamed by an alleged racist comment.

The Football Association announced on Tuesday night that Barton had escaped punishment for his “petulance” on Monday though it is understood Villa are not prepared to let the matter rest.

FA officials gave Barton the benefit of the doubt after studying footage of the incident in which Agbonlahor was caught in the face as his opponent flicked out a hand during Newcastle’s 2-0 victory.

The FA said referee Steve Bennett had not spotted the incident at the time, but decided that Barton’s actions did not warrant a red card and that the matter would not be taken further.

Villa, however, have requested additional television footage from Setanta Sports to investigate the matter.

Barton has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, saying: “He was going on and on, and all I said to him was to be quiet and let his feet do the talking. That was it. We shook hands after the game, and that’s the way it is. Nothing has gone on, and people are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Barton, who has only recently returned to action following a six-match ban and a 74-day spell in prison, added: “With the referee, linesmen and their assistant around, and all the television cameras, you know you can’t raise your hands, and at no stage have I done that. I’m going home with a clear conscience.”

Barton played a key role in Newcastle’s second successive victory but his conduct marred the performance and he was booked later on for a crude foul on Luke Young. “The ball is there to be won and I’m going to contest it,” Barton said. “This is a part of my game, and that’s what I was brought here to do.”

Former World Cup referee Graham Poll insisted on Monday night that Barton should have been dismissed, but the FA’s decision not to pursue the matter will come as a huge relief to Newcastle whose upturn in fortunes have coincided with the midfielder’s return to the fray.

A six-game suspended ban for his attack on former team-mate Ousmane Dabo would have been invoked if Barton had been sent off for violent conduct.

If this is true (that Villa have requested this additional footage) then they are more of a two-bob piece of shit club than I had previously thought.

....and I was only just starting to like their style. they can fuck right off now

  7. What attributes does Milner have to be a central-midfielder out of interest?

He is an intelligent and powerful runner with the ball. The reason he got into a pickle on the wing is that his crossing and acceleration are poor. Always needed 13425 stepovers, and to beat his man 16 times just to make sure he gets enough space to put the best cross in that he can muster.

He can also spot a very good pass, and is technically gifted (can do a good trick or two). Good shot from range, and can tackle and work extremely hard.

Look, i'm by no means saying he's the finished article in the center. But his attributes are definitely not of a winger's. His managers should have focused on developing him into a central midfielder. He does a very good job of it for the U-21's. Never a winger in a million years.

all in my opinion of course

  8.

two fingers up the slimy wretch that is the British media. opposition fans and players (from any club - especially the arsenal cunt Sagna) who also wanted him done for can go do one as well.

if someone's got the clip of Barton's tackle on Nasri, and can convert into .gif for me, please pm me with it? this latest incident and the media's reaction to it has turned Barton into a cult hero in my eyes

  9. If they beat Werder Bremen at home, and Inter beat Panathinaikos, they're through.

yup. think i'll be going to that. Anorthosis aren't my local side here, but i'd like to take that game in as celebrations will be out of this world should they beat the germans, and Inter beat the gutless greeks.

  10. Loved the game, we were immense but Villa were poor.

Until people learn Milner is not a winger but a central mid then he's never going to be effective and a promising career will pass him by.

Massive massive result for us, to think if we had beat Sunderland or Hull, one more win would see us in 7th place, madness how tight the league is, a win at Fulham and the season will have turned itself on its head and we can look forward to picking up form and points taking us into a strong position in the New Year.

Home form is critical imo with so many teams picking up wins and draws, keep that strong and away points being a bonus and the write off of a season won't pan out too bad. The other side of the coin is we can still go back down, but i like to think were moving now, beaten once in 5, and key players are coming back such as Jonas & Barton, while Owen is on the mend.

Got a feeling a big team could go down this year, hope its not us, what a difference a game makes, my confidence is returning, no doubt its returning to the players too.

great point re: Milner. said it all along. he's a natural born central midfield player.

  11. barton was on the rough end of a lot of bad reffing decisions last night, there should be nothing made of the 'slap', if there is we should go after agbonlahor for 'manhandling a player off the ball' for judo flipping him. it's easier to write stories about barton 'not changing his spots' than a good article about how well we battled and were the better team and deserved the result.

Henry Winter doesnt even mention the incident.

Actually he does, and goes on to say that although it was a nothing incident, Barton's capable of much worse. Then says "just wait"

The most impartial and factful match report however
