  1. This sounds like not only a bad game, but one of the worst coverages fora game ever. Is someone just standing outside the stadium (if indeed there is a stadium) trying to guess when something might have happened?
  2. Thing is, I'm avoiding it, because I know when odds appear too good to be true, they are. Which means they now will win.
  3. So, Portugal. Perennial coupon-busters. Home to Russia tonight. Portugal, 11 points from 6 games. Russia, 4 wins from 4. 0 goals conceded. Can get Russia at 4/1. Is it a case where the odds are too good that it's inevitably going to bite you in the arse?
  4. McGeady to score in a ROI win @ 3/1

He's not crap for Arsenal, either. He's not a world-beater. There is, however, a significant gap between "world-beater" and "crap".

You could almost say... he's not crap.

Bring back Channel 4 Italian football. Or, specifically, bring back Gazzetta Football Italia where without fail, every Saturday (or Sunday?) morning, James Richardson would be there reviewing the Italian sports papers with a fucking massive ice cream sundae always sat next to him.

Rui Costa, what a player he was on his day. Seem to remember him and Figo tearing England part in Euro 2000 I think it was?
  10. I agree with Ballack to Chelsea being the wrong move for him. He was never able to consistently show is brilliance as a central midfielder, something he showed in abundance with Leverkusen and Bayern. As we seem to be quite fickle over here (we being the national press at large), due to Chelsea being the wrong move for him football-wise he'll therefore not be revered as much as he probably should be. Essien I think was excellent for Chelsea. Been a bit of a fall from grace but he had a serious injury which kept him out of for about a year IIRC.

I'd certainly have him over Howard, but even if we were interested I doubt we'd get him.

Think he's a brilliant manager personally, easily one of the best of the past 15 years.
  13. Spain and Italy U21s to win their groups.

    José Mourinho

I wouldn't deny that. It seems pretty clear cut it was a personal decision, but he also left at a very good time. I think footballing circumstances would have sealed the deal.

    José Mourinho

Although it's hard to say exactly what he was thinking, there's no denying Ferguson retired at a convenient time. Left a not-that-brilliant Man Utd squad comfortably on top of the league. He'll have known fine well Mourinho was likely to return, he'll have known Mancini was likely to leave and thus Man City were likely to improve. He got out at the right time.

Agree. Was easily among the best keepers in the league last season. Arguably the best alongside De Gea IMO.
  17. Hang on just a minute. There's something a bit more noticeable about that image.
  18. Had a bit on the draw, pity Neymar couldn't score, the wanker.

I feel Clive needs to remind us a bit more often exactly where this game is being played.

Pleased they scored just to stop Clive's fucking horrible puns.
