  1. Cause I have them on a -1.5 bet. Don't you win quite regularly?
  2. "This game would definitely be over, maybe" Alan Parry's tribute to Oasis - 'Definitely Potentially'
  3. How the hell are Spurs only 1-0 up?
  4. I think even from Buenos Aires, you'd be able to tell that was over, MW. Vintage Lennon Part 2.
  5. Bar smashed, easy chance missed, maybe it's Blackburn's day. Or, more likely, they'll get comfortably beaten.
  6. Sandro humiliating the bar there.
  7. What have you got against Malaga? Everything. I realise that should be in the betting thread but fuck it, I'm feeling rebellious.
  8. Great to see Hutchinson playing btw.
  9. I fancy Chelsea to nick this.
  10. Just before my time in terms of his Barca/Real years, but was disgustingly talented whenever I've seen him play. Need to see more of the Laudrup/Stoichkov and Laudrup/Zamorano combinations at Barca and Real respectively. Fair to say he's underrated in the context of the past 20-30 years? Just having a look at some quotes from others on Laudrup: Iniesta: "Who is the best player in history? Laudrup." Romário: "The best player I have ever played with." (Raul said exactly the same) Figo: "I think maybe Laudrup was the best player I ever played against." Platini: "One of the biggest talents ever." Beckenbauer: "Pelé was the best in the 60s, Cruyff in the 70s, Maradona in the 80s and Laudrup in the 90s."
  11. Pains me to say it for numerous reasons, but Suarez was world class yesterday.
  12. Yep, you'd have to say they're pretty much gone. But it's the end of the season, funny results happen. Spurs are out of sorts... yes they're the overwhelming favourites but I wouldn't rule out Blackburn getting something. Beating Wigan is of course essential for them but that alone won't save them.
  13. Real Madrid with 2 in 4 minutes, 3-0 up.
  14. 4th is still on even if Chelsea and Spurs win, which they probably will.
  15. Interesting comments. I can see why you'd be downbeat after yesterday but I refuse to believe you all seriously think you now have barely any chance of finishing 4th. Wednesday will be important. If you can get a draw/win and in doing so at least match Spurs' result, you're right in it. I still think you've got a great chance of beating Man City (again, influenced by the state of the title race at that point). With so many ifs and buts, and no doubt twists left in the season, I don't see why you'd be so despondent about your chances of finishing 4th, just after one (very) bad day at the office. Tottenham look shot to pieces and Chelsea may well be distracted. You've still got a very good chance.

  17. Villa's GD could end up saving them. Can't see 3 teams going above them.
  18. Totally agree on both counts. Whenever I've seen you this year, Tiote hasn't impressed me that much. His passing has often been mediocre and gives away a lot of fouls, many of them stupid. Has his qualities, like most do, but could be one to sacrifice if you had to sell someone. Might just be a harsh assessment on what I've seen?
  19. Jelavic will make such a different to yous next season. Can't see yous having your usual shit start. He's a top drawer striker, something yous have been missing for a long time. Yup, absolutely class so far. And we need to bend over backwards to get Pienaar back permanently, makes such a difference. I don't think we really need anyone else in particular to be able to succeed next year - maybe another striker. But then again, past few years I've thought at this stage (end of the season) we've got a great chance to really push on the following season, and we come up with another wank first half of the season. I've given up trying to work out what goes on August-December.
