He's desperately hanging onto this idea that the opposition nicked a goal and it was Sunderland who were calling the shots throughout the game.
Oh, and Bruce, again, doesn't really understand possession does he?
Brighton 53% - 47% Sunderland.
As I say, although Brighton have had a good start, the fact this can't be counted as a shock or even a big surprise, even with a strong Sunderland side, speaks volumes about where Sunderland are at currently.
He's a decent signing for them but nothing more. Also, last year was the first time he'd managed more than 3 in a season. Very possibly a one season wonder in terms of goals.
Shocking signings. Larsson is okay, but absolute dross otherwise.
What on earth does Bruce expect? You sign mediocrity, your team is mediocre. Apparently Steve hasn't worked this one out.
For the second time tonight, we've just posted exactly the same thing without each other knowing. Posted one a page or 2 back, exactly the same only with "Carling Cup Run".
Not really. Close to, but starting no strikers of any description can't have helped their play.
Only 3 changes from Saturday. This was a strong side.
Not that it was actually strong, just by Sunderland standards it was.
Not long...

Although them going off it would be highly amusing, not caring is, albeit less funny, a whole lot worse.
That's what I noticed after the weekend. A lot of them decided that after much unjustified pre-match gloating, the subsequent defeat, in the light of eternity, didn't actually matter that much.
This wouldn't be a shock btw. Brighton starting brilliantly in the Championship, at home to a mediocre PL side who got a barely deserved point in their opening day then lost to their biggest rivals in their 2nd game.
It's almost as if Sunderland just aren't very good.
