  1. I think you'll more than put that right.
  2. Give me about 20-25 minutes mate and we'll plan how we'll embarrass ourselves the betting industry with our obvious wisdom. How audacious are you feeling?
  3. was wondering about your backup when i saw that this morning, are the wheels likely to come off harry's wagon? Well seeing that Dawson, King, Woody, Corluka, Bale, Huddlestone, and Van Der Vaart are out, tonights team will hopefully be... --------------------------------Gomes------------------------------ Hutton-----------Kaboul---------------Gallas-----------Ekotto Lennon---------Jenas----------------Modric------------Kranjcar --------------------Defoe--------------Crouch------------------- Subs : Cudicini , Bassong, Bentley, Sandro, Palacios, Keane, Pavlychenko. Lennon is out for tonight, Won't be seeing Sandro either, he isn't even registered for the group stages of the CL. Wouldn't be surprised to see Modric on the bench, give him a break if possible. Werder's problems seem to be even worse than ours. From the Guardian.................. The manager, Thomas Schaaf, has nine players out injured and a 10th, the veteran midfielder Torsten Frings, unavailable through suspension. Schaaf joked that he would enjoy the shopping and sightseeing in London. He has been forced to name seven reserves in his travelling party and two of them, the defender Dominik Schmidt and the attacking midfielder Felix Kroos, the brother of Bayern Munich's Toni, are tipped to start. They have not yet kicked a ball for Werder's first team. Edit.... Sounds like Lennon will be on the bench. Never like the idea of playing someone who is half fit, that's why we have a squad. Yep just noticed Lennon might be out too. I give up on this game tbh and fully expect us to lose. Gonna put a tenner on Bremen. Why the pessimism? Admittedly you're trying to outdo our injuries from last year, but Werder by the sounds of it are in poor shape themselves. You have every chance tonight.
  4. I wish this was an exaggeration.

    Football pet hates

Agreed. VDV got his for pointing on Saturday. Being pedantic but didn't VdV have a few (minor) altercations before getting his yellow? A few nothing fouls? And completely agree with Cronky; it's one of the lunacies of the game that you can get a yellow card for celebrating a goal, an emotion of joy, and you don't get anything for being a complete childish twat. Officials need to desperately clamp down on that sort of behaviour. When players start getting severely punished for acts of petulance like that, maybe they'll show the referees a bit more respect?
  6. Oh I agree, perhaps not as pronounced as much but we have problems breaking teams down a lot of the time. That's why I was so disappointed by the Arsenal performance - they came and afforded us space, they weren't very good at all but we were absolutely shocking. It was a real chance to kickstart our season. While you rely on AC9, we're unfairly relying on an attacking midfielder to "be in the right place at the right time." And again. And again. If football was played up to the opponent's area, we'd be title contenders.
  7. Story of our season. We're so close yet so far from being a really good side. I wonder if Everton fans are fretting over losing points against the likes of Blackpool, Newcastle, Sunderland, Wolves, Blackburn, etc. but getting results against the likes of Liverpool, Spurs & Man Utd in the same way some of our fans are? We're just fretting over how we can appear to play so well and have come away with so few points. Sorry, probably missed your point here.
  8. Story of our season. We're so close yet so far from being a really good side.
  9. I like the way that even when something unlucky happened to Sunderland - the deflection - that was merely 'cancelling out' the ridiculous decision to allow their 2nd goal. The deflection, although unlucky, couldn't really have been prevented. The linesman however needs shooting if he can't see that. Abysmal.
  10. I can't really be arsed to go on about it right at the moment, so I'll steal these thoughts from the Everton forum, which near enough sum up what I think:
  11. I feel we're blessed in the striking department.
  12. Oh my word. Some luck. This doesn't feel right.
  13. Oh great David. Leave it till the 82nd minute. For god's sake.
  14. This has 2-1 Sunderland written all over it. Same old problem, not capitalising on good positions.
  15. Up until just before 30 minutes in was a thoroughly embarrassing performance. Finally woke up, though.
  16. Has Arteta had a touch of the ball so far?
  17. Serves us fucking right, we've been fucking shocking.
  18. Please get Heitinga off. He looks utterly clueless. That said not many of our players have looked better.
  19. More like it! We've been abysmal since the goal.
  20. Fucking hell man, control the football.
