I think he’d be an upgrade to Longstaff
He really wouldn't
Longstaff has some limitations but he isn't a football coward

I remember reading it was basically improved terms, so not an extension. Maybe an option of another year?
Ornstein had reported it was to be an extension to 2026, with soke coaching responsibilities in the later years
We never did get confirmation, which I hope means his contract only runs until 2024

Can’t even bring myself to want Man United to win today even though it helps us.
I say I want Man-U to win but the closer it gets the less I feel sure about that stance
I guess I just need to enjoy the match and look at it as a win win

Didn't see the game due to work so don't know if it was mentioned at the time but I've seen a couple of occasions recently when a player has got a shot away and is then brought by the attempted tackle. Isak is felled by Alison and I'm not sure if it's Ake that makes the block. Now I don't think it's a pen bit similar things have been given and at least scrutinised and I bet had it been the other way.......well you know.
Not sure if I posted here or elsewhere but whilst those are usually never given as penalties as he got his shot away but it reminded me of the penalty Nketiah got against Ederson, he got his shot away but was caught after
The commentators were adamant it was a penalty, whilst technically it was the counter argument is that those are never given and we've seen that today and a few other games too

I think I've made this up.
I'm sure the ball was rolling back to him and took an age when he didn't have to.
He did take a while from what I remember but Willock then heads it to Trippier who instead of launching it forward tries to play a pass to Trippier but it goes to Gundogan I think and then they break
-
They have Norwich, Sheff Utd and Burnley up next, on paper that's a tough set of fixtures
-
They are the gift that keeps on giving
Only feels like a few weeks ago that they were working out what needs to be done to catch Sheff Utd
-
Pope
Trippier
Schar
Botman
Burn (Ideally Targett but not sure he's match fit)
Longstaff
Bruno
Willock
Murphy
ASM
Isak
-
Chance for Longstaff, chance for Gordon, chance for Wilson
We've not played too badly but we didn't defend well for their goal and it was a deflection
Just need to stay in the game and then unleash ASM/Isak
-
I think unless Wilson plays really well then Isak will start next week

Not excusing doing it all season, but regarding the restart Ake was still under contract for at least the next year. If Fraser had snapped his leg, would Bournemouth had paid him beyond his contract? Given the bad blood, I'm sure it would have leaked from the club that they had offered him say 12 months insurance in case of injury. I totally get why he did that, but still didn't like we signed him. Mixed emotions there
I don't think Bournemouth fans have too much of an issue with him not wanting to play beyond the contract
It was the lack of effort running up to the end of the contract, that's unacceptable

Reluctantly would prefer Man U to beat Liverpool this weekend. Despite my dislike for Man Utd bell end followers I feel Man U are already out of sight and them winning will keep Liverpool off our back.
Aye, same
It's better for us if Liverpool drop points so dislike of Man-U has to be put to one side
However I'll look at it as a win win, so if Liverpool do win then at least it means Man-U lost

Darlow debuts for Hull at home.
Having a good game so far, saved a fair few shots but I guess we've always known he's a decent shot stopper at times

Somehow Napoli manage not to score, off the bar and then a mint save from the keeper
-
Vecino with a great strike to give Lazio the lead away to Napoli

His contract was up. Bournemouth wanted him to play on when the league restarted
Which I initially thought wasn't unreasonable from him and their fans were harsh but I'm sure it was the Bournemouth fan on here (his name escapes me) who clarified that the issue was Fraser himself admitted he didn't try that season, which is unacceptable so totally understand why he got the grief he did

I personally don't see him leaving if we don't get CL this Summer. He has spoken a few times about 'the project' and how it will take time.
That being said, if we don't qualify one way or another* in 23/24, then I can see the situation changing. If that is the case, assuming he is still looking like the world class operator (or better) that he currently does, & has signed a new deal at some point, bidding shouldn't start below £100m.
*I actually think CL qualification through winning the Europa League could be more likely than through the league position even next season.
Next season 5th should be enough to get into the CL, so we just need to be better than 2 of the so called big 6

I'm sure this came up a few months ago and some of those journalists thought it was s gotcha moment.
Maybe I'm completely getting it wrong but at the time the takeover went through the agreement was that the state of SA would not run the club or influence it day to day.
I don't think it was ever suggested that PIF has absolutely nothing to do with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it would be ridiculous for anyone to even suggest that, it's literally how they got their money.
Essentially as long as MBS or other influential ministers are not calling Amanda etc and telling them to do X, Y and Z then we are all good.

Looking a lot bigger a task now with Liverpool firmly back into the mix. I'm honestly not overly interested in this weekend because honestly fuck Man City away. Just a dreadful fixture for every team and anything there is a bonus. But we've a good run in after that. Time to get our form back and go for it.
Liverpool have the two Manchester clubs in their next 3 fixtures so could do with them doing us a favour

Don’t we need a Man Utd v Man City final to improve our European chances?
It would help but I'd rather Man-U just get knocked out and then City win it
-
Man-U will get Grimsby at home in the quarter final
-
At the weekend I'll see it as a win win, Liverpool losing would be good but then so would Man-U losing, need some of their doylem fans to crawl back under the rocks from which they hid for years
-
Man-U win it, quality finish by Garnacho
They just keep on winning

Yeah, he gets a fair few for dissent or getting overly aggressive with players
Whilst I loved that side of his game when the rest of our players didn't give a shit I'd like to see him calm down a bit on that side as missing him for 2 games is far from ideal
