Targett behind Maxi for me today. We can’t risk Traore roasting Burn as it seems to be a mental think for him.

I don’t think Almiron deserves to start but there isn’t really an alternative.

    Just please start Isak

    I don't see Targett starting

He's played 5 mins of football on his return, Howe hasn't shown that he'll chuck players in like that

Anyone know many players who play regularly for them are actual Sunderland registered players on contracts, from what I guess theres around 5 loanees who regularly start for them ?

Actually only 3, Diallo, Michut and Gelhradt (and he only joined in Jan)

  3. I haven't watched it yet but I watched the 3 min highlights that Sky have, just felt like it was way too short, especially for games that had a fair bit of action in them

I know Sky will show 25-30 min highlights on their linear channels in the evening but for other teams that's too much of a commitment, which is why MOTD is the perfect balance between the two and why I like watching it

Was always going to happen due to curiosity, with this story being all over the news.

I can't believe people are saying "Wow there must usually be 1+hour of studio patter". There were 6 games last night, do they really think they normally show only 3 minutes of each game? No.

Aye the amount of comments I've seen saying that is staggering, can only presume it's from people that don't usually watch it but tuned on cos of either curiosity or they hate Lineker/Immigrants

Its pointing out how unpleasant people can be.

And I don't care for the cheap attempt at the end to tar people you disagree with as being find with the deaths of vulnerable people. Its that sort of inference that has caused this whole mess - slag people off, have a difference of opinion but implying that their nazi's or don't care about people dying is going too far.

Out of order imho, for doing nothing but pointing out calling someone who isn't hard right and being called a 'bitch' isn't tolerant.

Lets not talk again and just get back to football.

    Who implied they're naziz?

They can't play Santos though, can they? Chelsea I mean.

Work permit was declined so has joined Vasco da Gama on loan until the end of the season, with him being called up to the full squad he's likely to get a work permit in the summer

That Santos has been called into senior Brazil squad, think he’ll be the one we regret missing out on looks a real talent.

Aye, he had a very good U-20 South American Championship, along with Vitor Roque

The positive thing is at least we seem to be looking at the right sort of players, might just take a little while before we become the team players would rather join

Lineker would be in breach of contract if he refused to work under the conditions of his employment, so wouldn't be able to take the BBC to court for anything.

The BBC have already fulfilled their Premier League responsibilities.  They paid for the package of this seasons highlights up front.  Having trousered the money, the Premier League couldn't care less if the BBC broadcast it or not.

This is defo a possible outcome.

Who said he refused to work? If ome reports are to be believed he refused to apologise for his own personal views, big difference

I'm sure he would have happily continued to present the show if the BBC had left him to it

So based on that I think he'd have a strong case

As for the Premier League, of course they care, the more eyes on their product the better

As would the Premier League for not fulfilling their contact.

    That too

BBC cancelling MOTD is an absurd suggestion

I think the logical thing is for them to back down, then try and pretend it never happened

Lineker has set himself up against BBC Management to see who has the biggest clout.  Someone's got to lose face (and their job?).  If I was BBC Management I'd cancel MOTD indefinitely, sack anyone who refused to fulfill their employment contract and save huge wages on Lineker, Shearer, Production, Commentators etc.  Due to the mandatory license fee, the loss of viewing figures has no impact on income. Job done !

And then Lineker takes then to court, which will have an impact on income

Yeah it's easily the best like. I can't remember his name, but the lad who's very rarely on, mid-30s, sort of dark ginger hair, he's really good and should be on more often.

    The lad in the white?

Aye, he is good, very rarely on

Didn't they defend Bruce, criticise Rafa etc fairly consistently prior to the takeover, especially during his first season? At least some of them

    Not that I recall

They were fairly pro Rafa (only have to watch the podcast after it was confirmed Rafa was going) and still are to this day

Nice to see the the voice of tolerance reason and compassion is alive and kicking in Sunlun.

But I thought they were such a compassionate fanbase that cares for innocent people? Hmmmmm
