Best World Cup final and also the best World Cup I've seen. USA 94 will always remain my favourite as it's the one I can properly remember and also didn't really have a team that I badly wanted to win whereas the latter stages of this was nerves as I wanted Messi to win it. I am looking forward to the 2026 World Cup as it's back to the first one I remember but FIFA need to get the format right otherwise it will be a mess and potentially very dull.

Plus seeing Ronaldo have a crap tournament. Worst/Least favourite moment/anything: Bruno missing his chances in that game and then doylems slating him

Also I know it's been said but Emi Martinez should get a knighthood or whatever equivalent they have in Argentina, whilst Messi was clearly their best player he was there in those big moments That save from Kuol to stop it going into extra time. Then delivering in the shoot out against the Netherlands. Then the save right at the death from Muani was ridiculous and then finally in the shoot out. He delivered in big moments for them.

Still absolutely buzzing, it just feels right that Messi has a World Cup winners medal. Like someone had mentioned earlier I couldn't fully enjoy the game because of how badly I wanted Messi to win it, when it looked like they had bottled it on a couple of occasions I was devastated, only Newcastle losses have made me feel worse when it comes to sport. I didn't expect them to do it, not cos of Messi but didn't trust their defence when it came to moments. They were cruising that game until that Otamendi moment but we saw that fragility a few times in the tournament. For me there was never a debate but this just ends it. It was often said Ronaldo's greatest achievement was being compared to Messi and history will show that to be the case. Though the last hour or so wasn't enjoyable that's the best WC final I have watched by a country mile and it is the best WC I have seen (USA 94 being the first will probably always remained favourite) .

If I was a betting man then France will win with Messi missing his penalty

Argentina have been brilliant and fully deserved to be 2-0 But we've seen Argentina have shown vulnerability in the second half so this game is far from over, especially if France go route 1

They were the same against England but they'll hang in there and then score first, seems predictable to me

I can see it being a cagey affair but France taking the lead in the first half and then they kill the game off in the second with a counter and win 2-0 The Messi winning story would be perfect, which is why it won't happen

2nd option for me I think as a club that would push us along way more than a League Cup win would

That's how I see it, France being the holders puts them under slightly less pressure and this France squad will still be amongst the heavy favourites for the next World Cup Not so sure that will be the case for Argentina as Messi won't be around then

I get that but if Argentina lose then the same social media will be insufferable the other way, the Ronaldo fans will be unbearable and will see it as some sort of victory for him

I badly want Messi to win it, just feel that France will do enough to win it. I think France have the better squad but also less pressure, they're the holders so losing it feels less disastrous and they'll also be very much genuine contenders in 2026 whereas I don't see this Argentina side being much of a threat (though still some time for that to change). Also, I think France will level with Brazil in the next 3-4 tournaments.
