Alan Smith was crap and it was such an awful signing, it's one of those that wasn't even based on hindsight, the majority of people knew he was going to be shit and that's exactly what he was and some

He actually did get two big calls wrong, both against Real as well which makes it baffling to me that Casemiro not getting booked (many suggesting he should be off, but Casemiro would never make a tackle like he did if he was booked, very rarely gets sent off) and Sterling getting booked can be seen as the ref was pro-Real. Laporte should've been off for the slap on Modric and Real should've had another penalty when Cancelo handled the ball. There was also a barge from Kyle Walker into Vini's back which have been given many times before despite I personally not thinking much of the challenge.
The only one I agree with is the Laporte sending off but that's more on the VAR to get involved and make the right decision
In terms of Casemiro, of course he doesn't make the other fouls but then that means Foden etc are through and in decent positions so it had an subtle impact on the game

Aye, they just looked beaten even though they had 30 mins left
Though we've seen Real do this to PSG and Chelsea already, City was the most dramatic but I've never known a run like it
Liverpool will beat them with ease though

Yeah that was definitely bad, but city beat themselves imo.
I agree, what happened last night isn't on the ref but City just lost it
Not even sure it was a tactical issue, that screamed weak mentality to me coupled with Real having this insane level of belief

I’m not sure you can blame the ref for the defending for the first goal and that was definitely a penalty on Benzema. Making that tackle was extremely dumb, even if it was marginal, have to be smarter than that
I don't think the ref necessarily got any big calls wrong
The failure to book Casemiro was baffling

The fume on there over us lending Gateshead some generic black and white flags - literally Gateshead's colours - to help with some atmosphere is just hilarious, you'd think we were asking them to wave branded Newcastle flags which of course it won't be but their little heads just can't grasp that.
However the rewriting of history and their willing acceptance of this alternative universe over Gateshead's ejection from the league is rather terrifying on a human scale, showing how little evidence people need to so staunchly believe nonsense if it suits their agenda. Explains why the world is in such a fucking mess right now.
It is terrifying
Reading that thread, the amount of people making that claim and with such conviction too is frightening, I wrongly presumed that there would be something of substance to support the claim but so far nowt

They seem to be going on about us voting to relegate Gateshead, any legitimacy in this? Or is it another one of those where they repeat something enough that they all start believing it to be true
-
I think we'll get a point as they'll be feeling sorry for themselves
If however Spurs somehow get something against Liverpool (I very much doubt it) then I think it will be a very different City

Funny as fuck if City win fuck all this year.
The only downside to that is it probably means Liverpool do the quadruple

They had similar blow vs Spurs in 2019 in another title fight.
Yeah but this is an accumulation now, knocked out by Lyon, then lost a final they were expected to win and then tonight
Think it will hurt them this time

City will likely turn us over but it's as good a chance as any to get a result. This has happened so much to them now that some genuine despondency might creep in for a bit.
That's what I'm hoping too
And this is the most brutal of all the times they've been knocked out (takes over the Spurs one)

Honestly think this defeat is bad news for us.
City know how to win the league, they'll want revenge.I think the opposite, I think what happened tonight isn't something you get over quickly and that will impact them in the league
Whether it affects them enough in our game I'm not sure but absolutely even more convinced that Liverpool will win the league now
That was a devastating blow to City, you could see it from their reaction once the tie was levelled

Wait, what?
I've had an absolute mare like
No idea what I was thinking ??
I'll blame it on the game being mental

How tonight transpired means City will not win the league imo, it's all on that and I think the pressure will get to them

Tale of two managers, Pep lost it, again.
Did he though?
If Grealish scores/assists like he should have then it would have been a comfortable win
-
City have been knocked out on away goals twice haven't they? And now when it could (in theory I guess) have worked for them it's scrapped, canny unlucky that
-
Booking Sterling after what he let Casemiro get away with is ridiculous
-
Real will make a request to UEFA to make it a 2 legged final
-
Benzema wasn't missing that
-
They are just ridiculous, they always find a way
No chance City go through now
-
Real blatantly going to score
-
This isn't over like
-
Grealish has been good here
-
Yeah, I think we've learnt to never write Real/Benzema off
