Romano. I'm sorry, but are they really just looking to buy those 3, even if they sell Caicedo and MacAllister? Is that their ambition? If so, I'd like a word with the people who thinks that Brighton is here to stay competitive.
I think he's just saying who is already through the door
They'll certainly look to buy more as they'll have enough money for it

Mourinho is going to be a god in Rome if this result sticks right?
I know a Roma fan that has a tattoo of Mourinho for winning the Europa Conference, can only imagine what he'll do if they win tonight
-
Sevilla can cross all night but this Roma defence will win those headers all night
-
Saville have been disappointing
-
Dybala gives Roma the lead, good finish
-
Has been a boring game so far even if Roma aren't quite parking the bus as expected

Why on earth did they spend £50 million on Phillips?
Cover for Rodri
I presume if they get Kovacic then it's cos Gunodgan won't be staying

Roma have started all right tbf to them, not parked the bus like I expected them to
-
Hope Sevilla win because Mourinho is going to serve up anti-football on another level

Fwiw in terms of minutes Fernandes has played almost 10 games more than KDB
Though not like that stat is needed to know they aren't on the same level

Eh, surely nobody has ever claimed that?
My two older brothers support Man-U and they very much try to do it
And they use shitty stats like those that were shared to try and suggest he'd have better numbers than KDB if he played for City
It's doylem logic but here we are
-
1bn fans? I know they have a lot but I very much doubt they have that many
No chance one eighth of the world is a fan of theirs
-
He's a good player, arguably very good, the only issue I have is when Man-U fans try to claim he's on par or even above KDB
In terms of the stats shared I'd argue his numbers are higher as it mostly goes through him, the likes of KDB isn't as high as the chances created is shared around a bit more, same applies to Arsenal players
And ultimately he's a massive prick, that will always play a part in how people rate him

The man isn’t going on national tele and slagging off his boss ffs.
Aye because the only two options were slagging him off or kissing his arse
I can't possibly think of another option ?

Don't get the Shola hate, post playing career like. A geordie working for the club his loves, if he wasn't doing a decent job I've no doubt he would be out.
I mean, i doubt he's sitting in his arse just collecting his pay packet like.
It's quite likely to be due to his defence of Mike Ashley, especially at a volatile time
I do like Shola and I quite enjoyed him doing the MTV Cribs style video but I also can't fully embrace him because of how he sucked up to Ashley

Fuck me, Shola's as wooden as a rocking horse! Surely there must have been someone better.
No one else at the club has done an MTV Cribs before so it had to be him

Ok, but you're still limited in terms of squad numbers. We had 25 this season, I'm fairly sure we'll have to add Gordon now because he's 22 so that's 26. If we sign nine more players thats 35 so who are the ten on the current squad list you're moving on? Bearing in mind you've got the likes of Hayden, Hendrick and Darlow who are technically still on the books.
Dummett and Ritchie out of contract, so that brings the squad down to 24
Then Fraser will be gone, then if Lewis & Manquillo go that takes it down to 21
However Howe seems to want Dummett to stay so could be 22 (Or maybe Dummett stays but only gets in the CL squad but not the PL squad)
So there is some flexibility in the squad but the idea that we'll sign 5/6+ is fanciful imo
-
Ignoring signings like Kuol who are for the future I think it will be like last summer, where people expected loads of signings and we only made 4 (1 of which was already here and the other was done late in the window and more opportunistic)
I accept being a CL club changes things and perhaps easier to sign the level of player we want but I genuinely don't think Howe would want 5+ players in one window

If we lose Dubravka and ASM. Elliot maybe goes on loan. I dont think 9 is unrealistic considering we will probably sell 3-5 players.
It's why I don't think we lose ASM, Dubravka too
It's a massive risk adding a lot of players to a squad that's big on harmony and team spirit
The focus has to be keeping those that are top players and replace the weak links in the squad, we have enough weak links before looking at someone like ASM

Hahaha. I promise brother I'm not here to be winding anyone up.
Just playing devils advocate here. We cant afford a 70m from RBL who potentially flops or takes a year to get adjusted to EH and to England etc.
So I guess I'm thinking of who we can sign that we know what we are getting. Less of a gamble. Lower ceiling but a higher floor. I think its a great year to scavenge off other teams in the prem. Those who are relegated, fallen on tough times etc. Lord knows it happened to us for decades.
Another random but related question, what about the recent Chelsea model with long contracts and future funds involved. Risky? Tying up all that FFP money going forward. All signings have an element of risk attached to them
I think if we did get Szoboszlai it would be less than £70m but still would be a decent amount, the club will do their homework and determine whether he is worth it
Isak cost a similar amount and in terms of CL experience I don't believe he had any (maybe the odd game) whereas Szoboszlai has quite a fair bit
On the Chelsea model I'm sure it was said FFP would limit it to 5 years, so the 8 year contracts will not help from an FFP point of view. Not sure if that's actually in place yet though. Having said that copying anything Chelsea are doing is probably an unwise strategy anyway

Only need four hg players Anderson Dummett longy and krul/Forster.
Anderson is U21 so won't need to be named I don't think

Yeah obviously he's HG as he was at Carlisle. But we're fine on that (and will likely remain as such) - it's the club grown players we're short on.
Yeah, it makes sense why Howe probably wants Dummett to stay because otherwise we'd be short by 2 in that department
Krul/Forster as 3rd choice covers one
Can't think of anyone else we can get that's decent enough to contribute
-
Gillespie is home grown (can name up to 8 of these) but not club trained (can name up to 4 of these)
