  1. I think he's been fairly average, especially knowing how class he can be
  2. Miley easily the standout for us so far
  3. That was too easy for them, canny enough finish
  4. He won MVP at the Nike Cup, think it was at Old Trafford. Iniesta and Torres were two previous winners too. He looked impressive in that tournament and had such high hopes for him.
  5. I'm usually keen on getting young players out on loan and getting game time, in his case I wouldn't be considering it, firstly he's only just turned 17 so still very young and secondly he hasn't looked out of place in our side I think training with the first team and then getting valuable minutes in cup games, certain league matches will be huge for him. This time next year we can easily look at the situation and send him out on loan if necessary Based on what I've seen I don't think he'll have a loan stint, he'll get enough minutes this season and by next season can see him genuinely competing for a spot in the team
  6. He didn't look out of place, if anything he looked more composed than a number of players on the pitch Love how he's always either asking for the ball or moving into space to get it (the exact opposite to McTominay) Said in the other thread seeing him play now makes sense why we aren't looking at other CM's, he's more than capable
  7. Seeing Miley in pre season so far and I'm not surprised that we are seemingly not in for any further CM's
  8. I've always liked him as a player and I'm excited about him (Despite being gutted about Maxi going it is possible to hold such an opinion) His ability to play quick 1-2's and his strength in finishing well with both feet is why I think he'll do very well for us
  9. I'm not sure our squad is really thin We have 2 players for every position, due to versatility we have some flexibility in this area The quality of those players could get better but if it means it takes place over a few years rather than a sticky plaster job now then I'd much rather wait
  10. Aye It's the RTG version of Giggs (Though the SEB existed way before) It's to do with the Sophie Ellis-Bexter joke about murder on Zidane's floor

    Dan Burn

He still had 2 years left on his contract so would be interested to see where this new deal takes him
  12. It's one thing to say you will make a judgment on sponsorship, there is a bit more logic that can be applied (still think if it gets taken to court a decent lawyer gets it dealt with) but transfer fees are an absolute minefield How on earth can you make a judgement that isn't flawed? Is Harry Maguire the benchmark? Or is Antony the benchmark? Or Iwobi? What about Chris Wood? And on and on, it's ludicrous I think these clubs know it too but it's just part of them being awkward at every single opportunity and trying to derail/slow us down
  13. What a bunch of whingeing bastards, does have whiny Klopp and Levy written all over it
  14. There's probably an element of dickhead in both parties but I'd say more towards PSG I do agree, he clearly wanted to leave but allowed himself to be persuaded and PSG offering the world to a player on such a short contract was madness They don't want the embarrassment of losing him on a free but they rejected a hefty bid from Real previously They're a mess of a club and long may it continue
  15. I don't read that as him refusing to play PSG aren't picking him because he doesn't want to extend his contract and he doesn't want to necessarily leave this summer, in response he's saying he'll wait a year if needs be
  16. Unless I've missed it I thought he's said he won't extend his contract beyond next season, he hasn't refused to play
  17. Other teams not wanting a player is absurd reasoning Why don't you flip it and ask why other top 6 teams aren't clamouring for Barnes? Or does that not suit your narrative?
  18. I'm gutted about this, football is about joy and excitement for me, even in this world of results and winning at all costs nothing quite gets you like watching players like Maxi (Take the Isak run against Everton, he rightly gets the plaudits and attention even though the end result was delivered by Murphy) I do like Barnes, think he's a good player but he's boring in comparison If the fee was a decent amount it would soften the blow slightly but the reports of around £20m is a joke really, would just hurt more Ultimately, I know there is a large section of the fanbase that don't like him but there are many that didn't like HBA and quite frankly they are utter morons and must hate football Maxi was a shining light (along with Wilson) among some utter turgid football under Bruce and I'll forever appreciate him for that
  19. Ordered one from DHGate a couple of weeks ago for the bairn as he was adamant he wanted his name Did try to warn him that he might leave but he wouldn't listen, he's going to be gutted
  20. Fabinho being dogshit all season doesn't scream £40m but here we are
  21. What about the 5 assists and the numerous chances he created?
  22. Because he loves bottling it and he'll probably let Levy/Ange convince him to sign
