Well we didn't have a single midfielder on the bench, and we had to keep Smith/Tiote/Barton on to maintain a balance. Logical. and the inability to create any sort of attack. and I'm not leaving until everyone agrees that it is not the fault of Pardew's tactics or (forced) team selection but the obvious lack depth in the quality in the squad.

So you've started a thread about strengthening the squad but you're not happy about people speculating as to which positions and players we need to strengthen? Odd. Precisely, that's why bringing in another squad player would be absolutely pointless. Oh right, good point. More to do with my wording in previous posts. This striker needs to be a 'first teamer' then.

His comments on Ranger were pretty disgraceful IMO. You just know Ranger won't get a game now, even if it's the best thing for the club. Nice to see he's making enemies already. Whether or not it's acceptable/wise to air his issues in the open the fact is that he has a point. Personally he should not have spoken about the issue to the press.

We have loads of forwards who just aren't up to it. No way would I be prepared to rely on any of them for any amount of time.

It should be a priority though. We should have at least 2 specialist players for each position. Thats the bare minimum I would expect in a squad. Jose could do a HBA in Feb and we'd be kippered for the rest of the season. Striker, winger and LB have to be added to the squad and hopefully remove some of the chuff that isn't good enough for this league. I'm not saying that we ignore the lack of cover for LB. More so that we have to concentrate on over positions first - forward and winger/amc.

The best thing Pardew could do for us is resign. Let's keep this thread clear of this tat and discuss the real urgent matter at hand.
