He can only play 20 minutes at a time. So it's actually closer to 1 in 10 You can't argue with stats. 1 in 3. Has never managed more than 30 league appearances in a season. Has never scored more than 9 goals in a Premier league season. Has never scored more than a total of 11 goals in all competitions in a season. Has managed 9 goals in the last 3 seasons.

I can count Cisse, New Guy, Shola, Campbell with Goufrann also a striker. And that is assuming we know how the summer will go which we dont. But yeah only two aye? Campbell is unproven. Gouffran is being deployed wide at present, so we'd have to fill that hole if we started using him as a striker more often.

51 goals in 282 appearances. A record any decent midfielder would be happy with. 9 goals in his last 74 Premier League appearances. 1 in 19 this season. 2 in 27 last season. What a mess we have.

We all know that the only reason we are keeping him is our inability to afford to buy a replacement. A sad state.

I like how people are singling out the odd games that he scored a goal as proof that he is a Premier League quality player whilst forgetting that he is fucking awful 99% of the time. The place in the squad should be filled by a better footballer, simple. To put it another way, we should let him go at the end of his contract and bring a better player in, who is capable of more than a goal every 20 appearances. A player who is able to contribute to a game for more than 20 minutes. A player who is capable of being effective if started...

Serviceable for what? League 1? Not the premiership. Of course he's servicable, not as a starter but he provides perfectly decent depth and his record proves it. He's happy to be "depth" (which shouldn't be underestimated) is evidently a good influence in the dressing room. Seriously what's not to like. It's not like they'll be getting shot of Cisse because of this and Shola is to be our featured striker FFS I'd rather have Shola than £5 Million man Danny Graham any day of any week. Danny Graham is a better footballer than Ameobi.

He is only retiring from top flight football, so a return to play for Liverpool hasn't been ruled out. (stolen)
