He was worse some games than others, some utterly awful, some games he got by fine. What he's provided going fowards has played a more telling role for us this season than his weaknesses have, because as you say others have covered for them at times. Thats lead to more points for us, no reason it couldnt be similar in future with him as a squad option.

He clearly has strengths, pointless focusing on his weaknesses. Is he a good squad option? Yes obviously.

Who has assists in 4 of our last 5 wins before setting up the equalizer last week

Muntari has a CL-medal, I bet he could carry the entire Sunderland squad into europe. Pretty woeful argument that really isnt it.

Hes done well to play consistantly in our side hasnt he then for such a poor squad player. Really worked out badly for us having him play fullback when we got up to 3rd. Offers a threat from set pieces & his crosses if played on the wing. Our leading assister so far. But nah, crap player. Deary me.

I assume the 'possession won in defence' stat is the one you're pinpointing. With the 4-4-2 that we usually play, the wide men are expected to help the full backs. It hints at what lots of us have speculated on - that either Hatem needs to adjust (and I don't think he's that bad at defending), or he needs to play further forward (didn't seem to work too well) or we change to a 4-3-3. Yep. From that i read it as potentially a lot of the choice being made for the right wing being based around whos best at helping out Simpson.

  9. Loving seeing a keeper who just throws or rolls it out each time
  10. Rosicky looks much more on it today, like his old self a bit
  11. Milan today was basically us v wolves. Players mentality completely wrong & they sit back on the lead getting dominated.

    Alan Pardew

Just worked out a fun stat for people. We've played 23 games this season with 2 fit Cb's in the game. Of those 23 games, we've conceded more than one goal only 6 times. (Spurs, Man City, Lpool, Fulham, Spurs, Wolves) Of those 6 times, only 3 achieved it without pens/deflections (Lpool, Fulham, Spurs) Thats pretty amazing tbh.

    Alan Pardew

Hawk most of that post is just you saying you relate Pardew with Roeder, we could obviously be doing better & that Keegan went for more flair with his lineup. You havent actually offered many examples of how we could have improved on this season. Beyond doubting Cabayes form because hes infront of good players for France, when hes there because of his form in France & International football is not the same as someones first season in the Prem. Keegan played a more attacking system yeah & you know doing that currently would result in better results for us how? FWIW Keegan said just yesterday that Pardew was having a great season & was getting the best out of his players.

It did happen before when he came on vs Qpr after Cabayes injury. He started the next 3, he just didnt keep it up after fulham. As others have said id quite like to see Santon behind him instead, i think theyd combine well & Santon would both cover him better & overlap more effectively.

If he plays well he'll stay in the side, its on him to keep it up now
