  1. Thats how the best saves are made. When a players inches out keepers dont get much planning time
  2. nah, more of a lucky save, it hit his bloody chest, i would of saved it, if it had been coming straight at me Saved it with his arm
  3. Ameobi has 8 in 8, he could have finished the game crawling along the floor & itd still be stupid not to start him this game He guarantees a goal right now
  4. On a sidenote, Pancrates looked absolute garbage largely since scoring. Cant remember him being involved in anything useful beyond trying to top corner it again and missing about 4 times.
  5. Ameobi pretty much guarantees a goal. Keep Butt out & thats a near guaranteed clean sheet. Build rest of the side around that, seems simple
  6. If you watch it again you'll see the guys put his arm through harpers as he's landing & his bodyweight has visciously broken them apart. Harper had the ball.
  7. aye harper should be jumping for it, + why did he not complain if it was a foul, he f***ing knew he f***ed up He did complain, just not to aggressively due to being in shock from the assault on his arm
  8. If anyone makes that save at international level theyd be calling it world class in seconds. Itd be the same save He didnt need to come out it was dropping into his hands anyway. He shouldnt have to make it harder for the opposition to foul him & score from it.
  9. Sick of the sycophancy towards him by commentators. Good old British lad Nicky Butt gets praised to high heaven for wandering into the path of a couple of stray balls (typically followed by him hoofing a 'Hollywood pass' straight into touch). Whereas those fancy dan foreigners Coloccini and Enrique get criticised for having the gaul to actually play a bit of football (despite having played like that and frustrated strikers all season with barely a hiccup). Agreed - the commentators were s****. When he kept saying "These 2 lads will always give you a chance, blah, blah, blah" - Aye, dickhead thats why we have only conceded 14 goals all season All but 6 of them conceded while Butt has been on the pitch. Despite having only started 8 of our 23 league games. Now thats a telling stat
  10. Next time the opposition handballs it you'll saying the players shouldnt kick it so close to their hands
  11. Hughton was saying he was undecided on Harewood just a couple days ago. If hes undecided after his recent record, its not the best sign. We will see, i doubt he enjoys trying to keep 5 strikers happy.
  12. Dont blame him for being clearly fouled. Doesnt matter about how high he jumped or whatever else, his arms were pulled apart by the guy. Thats not something you expect in advance. Got us a point with a world class save.
  13. Not helped his case today has he Ive a hard time believing he'll be kept on now, its already against him with 4 strikers. Hughton will be looking for reasons not to take him on.
  14. He creates them playing out wide as they are crosses, we would lose that if he played in the middle. He'd still be able to drift around to the edge of the areas and loop some in. I dont think we're seeing what hes capable of in this league, his vision is far better than most. Just doesnt get on the ball enough atall. We'd gain more from his ability to put through balls in to strikers/wingers & loop some over the top than from him just being shoved on one wing i think.
  15. Id agree with that. Butts made a lot less obvious mistakes last couple games, he does look better than usual. But the signs are clearly there, we've conceded 4 in the last two games he's played. Having kept clean sheets in all the others around them. He obviously doesnt protect as well as smith, far to many times they had chances to knock it back in around the pen area today. Thats where Smith would usually be scurrying about fouling people & getting stuck in. Picking up lose balls, things we take for granted as just falling to him. Butt also tries to do to much as many keep noticing, his through balls dont work out. If he kept it simple he'd be more useful, often he just puts us on the backfoot again even when he does well. So along with the endless long balls from defence, id put part of it onto him. Hughton said a couple weeks backs the Butt was key in us getting narrow 1-0 wins away from home. And i fully agree with that, just not in the positive sense Hughton means it.
  16. Did Guthrie get another assist today then? What more does the lad need to do, get him in the middle. He'd be cutting through defences easily
  17. Just seen that result, very good Just need west brom to lose now & it'll be as if we hadnt played anyway
  18. He was still the most tested defensively, and the most successful too. Not a poor game, just below average. It didn't help that he couldn't get forward very much. True, just got higher standards for him than most. Seems strange that the last two teams have picked his side as the wing to attack, as opposed to simpson. Maybe because theyve noticed he can play himself into trouble or clear it badly.
  19. One day soon you're going to cry like a bitch. I expect when Owen nutmegs Colo & slots it in, to take us through the quarter finals of the WC i may shed a tear of joy yes
  20. Taylor/Harper > Enrique today easily. His worst game in a long time
  21. Was sayin it all last week after the Boro game. Neither Ameobi or Harewood are good on long balls, Carroll is, Ranger is. Loven is good at getting around back or slipping through balls in. So you create tactics to suit whoever you're playing, Someone + Loven gives us the most attacking options i think. So Hughton ignores any logical approach and just tells em to bollock it seemingly.
  22. Maybe we're just often crap in away games Or maybe its all their fault I think i know which is more likely dont you. Burn them.
  23. This is not a coincidence btw Im now officially superstitious.
