I know Gosling and Shola could have undermined him perfectly well on their own. Think keeping him on & then being able to undermine him instantly is exactly why they kept him.

So essentially Pards put him in the side because he wanted to help the lad get a club? Or am I giving him to much credit? Genuinely makes no sense beyond that.

Remember when games were mint when you were 12 & they all looked like s****. Then technology made them look far better & you get at best the same level of enjoyment? The further something is away from your expectations the better. Once you expect it, enjoyment is limited

Yup. I'd swap places with City in an instant. Nah. Their expectations are so high they barely enjoy the football. Even Man Utd fans likely take more from wins.

Don't think it makes any difference. Dunno like, heavy heavy loss & pressure built up going into the summer would only have helped the cause. This builds his side up & his supporters. Think of his comments after this game.

Thats half his issue with coming out in the 2nd half playing so defensively. He cant blame it on player/team ability when we see their capabilities for 45 minutes.

I'm quite happy for people to come on and debate the subject. The issue is those who make their minds up & ridicule others who are making an effort to help the club without understanding the underlying arguments/concerns. Forums definitely give a bigger overview as people notice different things & narratives form that we are more sensitive to than many fans as we've seen.

Tbf he's made HBA a lot more elusive.

Difficult not to though i'd imagine. I do think they've been a bit unlucky, the Gerrard slip. They probably deserved it more than Man City till that moment.

I might well have underestimated his powers.

Expect Liverpool to drop points tonight. The psychological effect of having it in their hands & having to remotivate from a weaker position will do them in i think.

Certainly better though, the more in the media talking about it in the right way the better.

Even in Pardews best period this season & there were games where we played some lovely lovely stuff. The 2nd half he would absolutely destroy the matches & try to "protect" the lead against sides we could clearly outplay. I want a manager who has belief in the side & his players. Thats about as balanced as i can be.

The looks on some faces when we scored our second when they had 1 man back. They can't see beyond the next 5 seconds.

I'm not sure if it will be possible for him to continue if the hostility towards him remains after today, which it should. Sadly it won't. It will blow over during the summer and come August people will long for football and cheering the Toon on again, naturally. Thing that benefits Pardew is the players we get are not dependant on him. We'd likely get the same ones with a different manager, so Ashley may spend anyway. The positivity from that will help the mug (assuming Colback isn't the level we manage to get)

It's not his decision. Ashley will care only about keeping the club up. It helps Pard's cause if he can get results regardless of fan pressure. Anyway more to play yet as people say, no point getting put off by it. Need to keep it going.
