  1. I couldnt fancy that happening less. He's a solid manager & he's achieved a huge amount of progression for them v quickly. He'll be fine for a while i'd imagine.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Glad to see Hatems standing up for himself. Interesting wording about Pardews entourage, obviously the lawyer got that from Ben Arfa. Might be two camps forming then, HBA clearly still has mates in the side.
  3. And your point is? We might lose by a lot. A lot. I agree, its worked out really well for us
  4. They were a better side under Mackay, OGS has added nowt.

    Nile Ranger

What the fuck man. 3 times? He's done that before like, didn't even think twice.
  6. England's centre forward back in midfield again
  7. He comes across well from that, positive mentality. They'll finish the season well you can tell.

    Kevin Keegan

Interesting point he made about needing 5 leaders in a dressing room, I just saw Scholes say the same thing in a related video about why Arsenal keep failing. Won titles with Viera, Adams, Keown, Seaman, Bergkamp etc Who leads us on the pitch atm? Ben Arfa is the only guy who raises our game. Think thats what we miss from the likes of Nolan & Barton, much better leaders in terms of drive even with limited ability. We've not replaced that.

    Shola Ameobi

We could have Zlatan & Aguero upfront & Shola would still be making 80th minute sub appearances.
  10. Problem for Moyes from the outset was always going to be that respect issue. The players have been taught & coached by one of the best managers in the history of the game, they're automatically going to doubt a new coaches ideas if they differ. They already know the best ways to train, to go into a game etc Why would they listen to someone who's achieved far less & adapt to his ideas? Ferdinand publicly doubted them a few times. Good luck to the next guy, obviously buying half a new side might help him.
  11. He also claimed that we switched between formations all the time and that we had done at the end of that season as well. Lies of course, we were always 4231 at the end of that season with players staying in position (apart from when HBA and Ba switched sides occasionally) and last season we never once, not even for a moment played with Ba left, Cisse central and HBA right. Not for one single second. I remember a random game where we beat spurs 2-1 & Ben Arfa got a pen running in from a corner. Think that was the last time he used it, obviously because it only helped us beat a champions league contender at that time. Winning manager of the season helped his ego to much, never does what's simple & that's all he can do well. Sad thing is with our players then that's all we needed.

It's perfectly acceptable to say it (mainly because I said the same thing a few days ago and I'm fantastic). Football is purely an entertainment business for fans. I can easily accept a defeat if we can be proud of the players after. Some of our best ever games have ended in defeat or a draw, for example. Exactly. I don't get the disdain towards the idea that sometimes it's better to lose a massively entertaining game than win a crap one by a single goal. Obviously you want firstly to be competitive in the league, but after that entertainment comes first. I'd rather finish 12th & enjoy the games than 7th with Pardew football. I want us to attack the league & get better at doing it over time, not lump ourselves over the line to 9th as if we've just achieved mission impossible.
  13. It was Ba wasn't it? Essentially put him ahead of our side it seemed & tried to justify it on the radio as "Footballs not about formations, it's about pass & move" etc I think. I remember people specifically asking him why he'd stopped the 4-3-3 & he claimed it wasn't that important. Essentially he ignored the obvious & thought he had insight beyond it that everyone else was missing. Then we nearly got relegated.

What was the reason for Wise btw? That Keegan had been out of the game too long? We put Kinnear in charge of transfers a few years later. Complete mess.
  15. You have to give respect to Mourinho for his ability to nullify an opposition. He does it to some of the best attacks in the world, not sure Pulis would quite step up to that level.
  16. Haven't we only won once from a losing position in his whole time here in the league? Stoke at home? Do I just have the blinkers on? Think we've done it three times now. The first goal seems to be what decides the game under him to a ridiculous extent. - Of the 68 games we've conceded first we've won 6. Drew 11 & lost 51. (Wins Scunthorpe, Blackburn, Stoke x2, Southampton & QPR) - Of the 79 games we've scored first we've won 54. Drew 12 & lost 13.
  17. Apart from the fact it's not. And he has. As evidenced by the way they play, and one of their players has directly said it. Moyes meanwhile has just been sacked after buying Juan Mata. Man just about every one of our players has praised Pardew. Even Ben Arfa called him the best manager he'd played under. It's a load of bollocks. Moyes worked miracles at Everton and turned average players like Baines into very good PL players. It's pretty telling that people want to peddle Moyes as a horribly negative manager but two of the best attacking full backs in the league came through under him. Yeah but Baines has specially pin pointed the change in philosophy and it's been evident on the pitch already. His first season and they are in with a shout for the CL. He's definitely changed it. Would they be if they were up against Fergie's Man Utd like Moyes was? Much prefer Martinez footballing philosophy, but hes still using a squad near entirely developed by Moyes obviously. Getting Lukaku as a loan signing was pretty fortunate aswell.
  18. Atleast they got to see Shola Ameobi score a meaningless goal in a game we lost to a side fighting relegation. Wouldnt want to miss that to actually help make the club better again, lets support the current regime & then moan about the shite football we're being made to watch when we get home. Might be better next week though.
  19. To be fair to him you check old Saints forums they loved the guy. Very sad when he left, not that its held them back like. The owner obviously knew better.
  20. Could be cos he's s*** like. Dunno More that he's part of Man Utd's fall from grace really which everyones enjoying i imagine. It is funny how things change though, i think there'd be genuine debate on here over whether people would want him as our next manager given the choice now.
  21. Why has everyone turned against Moyes so much? Hes not having a great season but he's done a lot to his credit before. Seems the in thing atm, dont see how he deserves it.
