  1. We always struggle with these really creative attacking sides
  2. Next year will be mint. We're Newcastle, its never obvious.
  3. We do, it's just Pardew chooses not to set us up that way. Nah, its one of those odd coincidences again. We approach these games like everyone else, just randomly goes wrong. Cant assign blame to anyone really.
  4. Its essentially like an England friendly even if it was isnt it? What bearing will it have long term? Fair play if you're expecting a surging run for Europe with current circumtances, im not telling anyone what to do.
  5. Exactly. Don't you watch football for enjoyment like? Yes, but I'm also a fan of a particular club and I want that club to win as many games as possible. If it was just entertainment I could easily just watch Real Madrid on the telly. This And if you just want to cheer on poor performances from people who represent Newcastle you could stick on some re-runs of Ima celebity? There's a hope of improvement, otherwise why care which league we're in? We could win games anywhere. We're going in circles atm, the managers happy with our position, we've got excuses & the players will need a lot of motivation not to do a Swansea.
  6. The 50k people going to the game care I reckon, they don't want to waste their afternoon watching a shower of s***. No idea why anyone would get their hopes up. Manager off rest of season, main striker out, way off Europe and we can't beat the side placed bottom. The players are gonna be well up for Crystal palace?
  7. Im confused as to how anyone could care about this game really. Football will be shocking, result is ineffectual to our season & we're half arsing it due to the manager situation as it is.
  8. Cant find myself that able to care about this. Our season needed some drama anyway, be interesting to see how we do without him at the games. What will his position be if we abolutely rinse the league without him on the touchline?
  9. Cronky was trying to claim its an issue that predated Mike Ashley, it was wiped out when Interpolic pointed out again our record was far better before him. Hes just replying for the sake of it, what relevance does "Yeah but dont you think some pressure exists?" have if we've previously dealt with it far better even if that were the case. All it points to is our current regime being the issue again, the starting position he was arguing against.
  10. Essentially. I made a post stating Pards/Ashleys views werent valid, Ian replied stating many clubs think similarly. It comes across as a defence of them. The problem being when Wullie posted evidence showing we do far worse in cups, so they do deserve blame its not just a "football problem". Ian just repeated our approach is the same & he didnt understand our poorer results. Last few pages has just been people stating its not a coincidence, they are failing somewhere (Kaspers post was best) & you guys repeating other teams drop players continually.
  11. No one has said it doesnt happen man, no idea why you think that is the point of contention.
  12. We have a similar approach to cups as other sides, we just happen to do worse. Unlucky for Gosling hes not turned into Ronaldo also like, because cause & effect doesnt exist. Then Pardew/Ashley might deserve some blame beyond openly stating what apparently loads of other clubs do anyway.
  13. Ian defends the regime, then is almost oblivious to the fact hes doing it. Its not our individual owners/managers fault, its just a common issue in football. We just happen to be the worst, for reasons that cannot be answered because our approach is the same. So it must be a coincidence, couldnt possibly suggest that somewhere our approach isnt actually the same.
  14. Would many clubs do it having shown they were capable of 5th? Or would they say at that standard we should have a manager that can deal with Europe without it affecting our chances of survival in the league? That's quite a drop. Surely the issue is the acceptance of a set up that even allows those concerns, not them openly stating them?
  15. I agree they have mixed feelings, Its not valid. You don't manage a club and openly state you're unsure of taking part in the most likely chance the fans have for any form of success resulting from the league. How is that a valid position from owner & manager? Unless they've more faith in Pard's ability to get us top 4 out of nowhere than to juggle europe. Or unless of course they don't have faith in either, because its not required.
  16. He didn't, in the slightest. "We aim to finish at least 8th, however we have mixed feelings about the Europa League" is not contradictory. And yes, having mixed feelings about the Europa League is valid. I think an awful lot of clubs and an awful lot of fans have mixed feelings about it. Wouldn't want europe to jeopardise our chances of getting into europe. I know it's slightly daft, but that's what 'mixed feelings' are all about. If you asked me whether I'd like us to get into the Europa, I'd say, "Yes, but I'd be a bit worried about our next season in the league". Mixed feelings, ladies and gents. But as Loki suggests what's the point in having a good next season if we cannot celebrate a positive outcome? Id imagine with our current set up champs league may be a long wait with or without extra games in Europe. Anyway its completely right to want a manager who can balance both, not to justify his insecurities at being able to handle it as yeah fair enough. Of course its not fair enough, we have nothing else man.
  17. Correct. Its a pointless existence...Feels lije a US franchise. Just happy to exist in a league to turn a profit Our success though provides him with more profit, thats about the only hope we have. The better the manager does, the more the players are worth, the higher we finish in the league, the more he can increase our status - the more exposure his main love SD gets you'd think. Cisse's purchase was the most recent sign of what seemed like some form of ambition i can remember.
  18. Bardsley left his foot in there
  19. Hes atleast matched walkers effort there
