  1. According to a South African football expert I heard on a podcast it's actually pronounced Deekashwah. Know nothing about whether he would improve what we have in midfield though.

Hmmm. Certainly sours any respect I had for him if true.
  3. What?! Ray Hudson is class. Atleast he's a bit different.
  4. I've always thought Belhadj is better suited as a winger. Not really capable enough defensively to play as a traditional full-back.
  5. Not Mokoena man, he's dreadful. The Pompey fans were cheering when he got subsituted the other day. Players worth taking from Pompey. Belhadj Kaboul Boateng Begovic
  6. " Zambia, Cameroon and Gabon each won 1 match and lost 1 match amongst each other. When removing all matches concerning Tunisia, all three teams have a goal differential of 0. Zambia scored and allowed 4 goals, Cameroon scored and allowed 3 goals, and Gabon scored and allowed 2 goals. So Zambia wins the group because of the number of goals scored in the matches between the teams concerned. " According to Wikipedia.
  7. He played a League Cup game for Pompey I'm sure.
  8. I though he'd be an unspectacular signing for us, so even more so for them.
  9. Routledge would probably be good, said when we played QPR he was exactly the type of player we need, a pacy winger who can hug the touchline who's possibly got the ability to be a Premiership player. Atleast then we'd be far more unpredictable and be a threat on both flanks, if anything it would atleast give Jonas more freedom.
  10. I think that back 5 is a better set of defenders than most of what the bottom half of the Premier League have, playing together consistently this season is certainly helping them develop as a unit. That said we will definitely need a few more bodies in as there is absolutely no depth. We all know where the problem is tbh, the midfield has been our achilles heel for about 5 years now. The lack of protection the defence will get from the current bunch of cloggers in midfield will cost us just as it did last season. We need 2 central midfielders at minimum when we go up. They don't have to be world beaters, just fresh, mobile who can pass the ball economically and offer a bit of energy. I really hope the management realises this, because getting in these kind of players along with a Jonas-like threat on the other side (preferrably with crossing ability) and I feel we'd have a balanced side more than capable of staying up next year. Obviously the striking department is very short aswell, but the midfield is the biggest requirement definitely - without improving it we'd be as good as down as far as I'm concerned.
  11. Simpson's fell on his feet a bit with that deal. Still, young squad player on the cheap - you don't get many solid full-backs for that price so lets hope he proves to be a good signing.
  12. Quite ironic - wasn't it Algeria that went out of a World Cup in similar circumstances? I think it was Germany and Austria that played out a 0-0, '86 maybe?
  13. I don't rate Kenwyne Jones at all.
  14. I certainly wouldn't want Solano to start.
  15. Robert and Bernard are available on frees aswell right? Actually, why stick to former Newcastle players - we could sign Litmanen and solve the creativity problem.
  16. I can't see anything that bad with this to be honest, aslong as the playing side is restricted to cameo appearences and it's with a view to a coaching role first and foremost. I actually still think he'd have more than enough to play a bit at this level. Wages would be negligible aswell I'd fancy.
  17. Player/coach till the end of the season followed by a permanent coaching role would be lovely
  18. Pretty shit, would be the answer.
  19. I think they probably want him to be Xavi's long term replacement. Not really necessary at the moment though, I get the feeling Xavi will be able to play at a high level well into his 30s.
  20. Agbonlahor is a track runner who's learned a few football skills. Hate speed merchant footballers like him.
  21. Zlatan needs a big performance tonight, he's been a bit off since the winter break.
