    Alan Pardew

I've slept on it without posting about Pardew. This isn't kneejerk, but i'm sick of him. Yes we're 6th (WELL DONE PARDEW!!!!!!This is ALL because of you. We were in the Championship 2 years ago don't you know?), but i can count on one gangrenous hand how many games where we have deserved to win/get something out of this season. Pardew really is a Southern Allardyce with patter. At least Allardyce said he'd play hoofball. Pardew uses his salesman-like patter to tell us that we're a team that plays a good possession football, when in truth we're just a team full of hard grafters with the odd moment of individual brilliance. I couldn't wait for half time, and thought well we'll come out better in the second half. No way on earth did we deserve 2 goals from our 3 shots, yet we got them. I turned to my dad at the start of the second half and said i bloody hope this isn't going to be a repeat of Stoke under Kinnear. And yet it was. The bloke really is clueless, and there's no point regurgitating what's already been said but i can see the crowd turning on him next season. We'll probably finish 7th or 8th which will be a great success. However, next season we'll (he) be find out and the majority of fans will turn on him. Yo0u can tell already from the comments in this thread. The last couple of weeks HTT has been shot down. Funny that people are agreeing with him this week...
  2. He's on football focus. Anyone see his face when they mentioned the SDA. Love him
  3. Joe Harvey died 23 years ago today. Anyone remember it? I bet there wasn't as much fuss because Jackie had died the year before.

  5. Very interesting posts there HTT It is such a shame that our best period of history 1900-1912ish and the 1920's were way before television and games being recorded every week. I think there is the odd viedo out there of us playing in the 1920's though and our famous 2 tunnels that we used to have. One for the home side and one for the away side

  7. I like Binnsy's team My team was this... GK: Jimmy Lawrence RB: Irving Natrass CH: Frank Hudspeth CH: Joe Harvey LB: Alan Kennedy RW: Jack Rutherford CM: Paul Gascogine CM: Peter Beardsley LM: Tony Green CF: Hughie Gallacher CF: Alan Shearer Manager: Kevin Keegan I went for a similar view of Binnsy to pick players that were succesful etc etc.

If someone gave him his money back, he'd snap their hands off. That's the saving grace for me that the club is up for sale and always will be, not offocially but if someone offered him his money back he'd take it. He will run the club in a way that will not require further money from him to keep it going and in the meantime, he'll get as much exposure for his baby Sports Direct as he can, whatever the cost. The only good thing from his time here which admittedly will be a big f***ing thing, is we will be self sufficient in terms of the club being debt free to anyone other than the man himself, we'll operate well within our means and will not lose silly money, waste silly money etc. I reckon we could be sold in the next 2 years, the World Cup is up after the Euros and that will spark new interest in buying a footy club. The Arabs would love to buy another PL club but we have always been overpriced. Us and Everton could possibly ba future target for the Arabs, especially with the i realise it's not directly related but at the end of the day on the pitch we're in about as good shape as we've been for the the 20+ years i've been watching us minus 2-3 exceptional seasons of course let's hope hope mike f***s off with his signs eh? Such a simplistic way of looking at things. And anyway i'd say it's mroe than 2 or 3 exceptional seasons. 1994 1995 1996 1997 2002 2003 2004 *EDIT* Maybe 2006 too. They have all been better than this one.
  9. Sundays are better than early Saturdays tbf. Saturday 5.15's on the other hand
  10. Exactly. I would have picked Jimmy Lawrence over Given as well and probably Hughie Gallacher over Milburn or Shearer. Gallacher's goal record for us was astonishing. Frank Hudspeth should be getting a look in too playing for nearly 20 years and being our highest outfield appeared player.
  11. 5 home games will have been played at 3pm on a Saturday after the Wolves game, possibly leading up to 7 as long as the home games to Stoke and Man City don't get moved. I can see the City game definitely being moved anyway. But if not 7 out of 19 games on a traditional kick off ffs
  12. How many Saturday 3pm home kick off's have we even had this season
  13. I love Chelsea's numbers and name's printed on their champions league shirts. Remind me of our 95-97 numbers

I wonder how long he'll stick around for? He's been here for 5 years now. 3 and a half he's been hated.
  15. Everyone I know who attended games in those days rate him higher than Beardsley and even Gazza. I've seen one clip of him and he did look good like. But one clip just isn't enough. Such ashame he only played about 30 games i think?
  16. For anyone able to remember, just how good was Tony Green?

The more you think about it the worse it gets. To have wiped out 130 years of history and then some more is a disgrace. And i find it so sad that some fans think its okay to get a few extra million. Even though we aren't...
