Most bad spells dont last 3+ years! We've been on a bad spell ever since we sacked SBR and shearer retired!

The only good that can come of this is the hope that MA might realise he needs to do one ASAP

Right has anyone tried the "Goals Galore" thing from betfred? Basically you have to choose a minimum of 2 and maximum of 10 games where both teams will score each match weekend. Odds are like this: 2 chosen 2 correct: 9/4 3 chosen 3 correct 9/2 etc etc I have sat and thought about this, done abit of mathematics and ive come to the conclusion that if i put this on every week then by the end of the season i have around a 70% chance of being in profit come the end of the season. Im going to go for the 6 game one at 33/1 so i have to pick 6 games (from prem, champo and scotland) where both teams will score. So if i put 3 quid on then ill get just over 100 quid if it comes in. So if i get i it right for ONE week ill get 100 quid. and if i get it wrong for 30 weeks ill only loose 90 quid. So basically, i only have to get this correct 1 week out of 30 to make a profit, and i would say i have a fairly decent football knowledge and think i can get this correct at least 3 or 4 times out 30. So for 4 wins out of 30 id win: 400 quid and loose 78 = 322 quid profit Even for 3 wins out of 30 id win 300 quid, 2 wins 200 quid and so on. So overall as long as i win ONCE (100 quid) out of 30 weeks id end up in profit? Surely this is conceivable for a typical knowledgeable fan like ourselves. Any thoughts? Easy money or have i slipped up somewhere?

The club cannot afford to be complacent about being promoted. Oh and we are not top of the league, we are only in a play off spot! So the fact that we've already won half of the total games we won last season doesnt suggest we'll be in contention for promotion? Spurs are gonna win the Premiership tbh. True. Its a shame they arent in the CL, they'd give Barcelona a run for their money this year. We're third after four games. There are FORTY games left, plus at least two cup games. At present, we have very few injuries. Five or six injuries later and we're playing the academy side. Of course we need new signings. What an awful post. Yes and we have decent academy players which are adequate cover. New signings will not happen mate while the wage bill is this high. We might want new signings but theres no desperate need for them.

Do we even NEED new signings? Other than just for cover? (we are top of the league) i think its much more important we don't sell anymore top quality players like taylor etc. The statement indicates they have agreed a deal so Ashely must not want to stay on. Good news.

So we know MA/DL decided on Friday that they were going to make an announcement on Monday. My question is, if Ashley was going to stay on then why would he wait 3 days before announcing it? it makes no sense. What does make sense though is MA on Friday planned to finalize a takeover over the weekend for a Monday announcement. Yes im being optimistic but id say 60/40 in favour of a takeover tomorrow.

Even if shearer actually was told yesterday he would be getting the job by the weekend, then he would obviously have to be there tonight to see the the team he would supposedly be managing next match. i really don't think shearer would be seen at s.t jameses while all the speculation was going on, unless he's been asked to be manager.

I know Shearer would obviously turn up to watch the toon but I'd assumed he'd be on MOTD. Done deal in my opinion. I think we might just see that yellow ticker on Friday.

Aye was cracking tonight. Though i was stood on the steps for the whole game! There was cash turnstile people coming in after 20 mins!! the que was massive on the turnstile like - alot of people missed the goal aswell

Well remember all the fuss the stewards kicked up last season - was a good laugh though, they give up half way through the season. Kids who want to sit should obviously go to the family enclosure - theres only the WHOLE milburn level 7 for them now - some 5 or 6000 seats to choose from - i sit it L7A by the way where about half sit down.
