  1. Wait, with all this fracas I almost missed the real big transfer news of the day. Bielsa to Leeds! This is going to provide fantastic entertainment. Certainly off the pitch, with a bit of luck maybe even inside it.
  2. Hierro is well-respected. His career as a manager is an anecdote, though, so not sure this is the best way to go.
  3. Apparently the break is more alongside the lines of "old guard" vs "young guard".
  4. Spanish club sabotaging their own national team. Pretty extraordinary stuff man It is known that Pérez doesn't give a fuck about the national team.
  5. Apparently Rubiales asked Madrid&Lopetegui not to make the announcement until after the WC, but they went ahead with it anyway since some players had already been told.
  6. Anyway, Lopetegui will say his piece now. Curious to hear his side of this mess.
  7. Rubiales is legitimatelly pissed that Lopetegui talked to Real Madrid behind his back - he's said he knew nothing of the deal until 5 minutes before it was announced. And as I said, during his stint in the FPA Rubiales showed he's no one that will let himself be taken for a mug. This is a mess.
  8. Nah, they won't go for Rafa. Also, we'll most surely go with the AssMan or temporarily appoint Celades (our U21 manager). Then sign somebody on a perm basis after the WC.
  9. To be frank the new FA boss is the former boss of the FPA, where he already got a reputation for being a tough "don't dare fuck with me" kind of guy. I expect fun times with him at the helm.
  10. It's mostly because of the dressing room unrest this has caused. But sacking him would make things worse, imho.
  11. I don't think he will be sacked, it would be too big of a mess. The media are loving this stuff though, they love flinging shit. My bet is that Lopetegui will apologize, promise to give his all during the WC, and that will be it. As for his replacement after the WC? I think it will be Luís Enrique.
  12. A non Madrid player found out and they figured it was gonna get leaked anyway. The werent planning on announcing it until after the WC apparently. Bet it was Pique, massive shit stirrer I sincerely hope it was him
  13. Yeah, the FA is fuming since he signed an extension like 3 weeks ago. Plus this gets announced two days before the debut, upsetting the dressing room. I don't know why they couldn't wait to announce it until the WC was over.
  14. Deulofeu to Watford, €13m+4 addons. Surprised about it, tbf. He didn't seem to be ripping up trees at Watford.
  15. Guti is often mentioned, he's managing their U19s. But I don't think there's anything to it. It would be a disaster, imho.
  16. I think Poch would be ideal. He knows the league, too. But apparently Spurs are not budging so Madrid is looking for other targets. Klopp was talked about but apparently they got rebuked, too. There really aren't many big managers available, and I reckon managing there after Zidane will be seen as a poisoned chalice by many. Pérez used to be huge fan of Wenger, but I'm not sure that would work.
  17. No idea, but they seem to be having trouble getting somebody high-profile. And Pérez only does high-profile.
  18. Madrid have inquired about Mourinho, according to a Spanish digital rag. Dude that runs it used to be the director of Marca so he has sources.
  19. He was our twelfth player while Pep was here. Always would come in as a second half sub. Given that our midfield was Busquets, Xavi, and Iniesta it was no mean feat to be the fourth man.
  20. Going back to his times at Barça, he really had a bad relationship with both Touré and Eto'o, but otoh he had a great relationship with Seydou Keita. Pep is a big personality and he's fallen out with many players, and he certainly can be a bit of a cunt, but I don't see a racist pattern.
  21. Guy is raw and inconsistent (he's 23), but when he's on he's a scary sight on the wing. Pure pace and directness.
  22. Friend of mine from Vigo says they're only selling for the amount of the release fee: €40m
  23. This is what I'm thinking tbh. Think his laid back demeanour suits the big stars they tend to bring in. Pérez used to be a big fan of Wenger, but I don't think he'll go for him. I think Wenger's yesterday news, tbf.
