Kevin "CCC Lampard" Nolan: 'Toon are out to silence the critics'
Village Idiot replied to Thespence's topic in Football
All comes down to this really. Jonas and Routledge out wide as is. A strong mobile striker who can play upfront alone. Two other legit central midfielders who can get around the pitch, tackle and also pass the ball to a decent level. If we had these elements with Nolan in a 4-5-1 setup it would work. However, of all the elements mentioned we only have Jonas and Routledge. Campo-Okocha-Nolan were a great combination. They used Davies upfront, who isn't particularly mobile, but Nolan thrived on his flicks on and the second balls he generated. Yes, I watched Bolton lots during the mid-late 2000s :-[ -

He was pretty good at Bolton for several years, he was even in the fringes of the England squad. Although Sam's 4-5-1 did a very good job of carrying him. -
Incidentally, as I have suspected all along, Leo Messi's father has finally been revealed to be Peter Beardsley http://estaticos03.marca.com/imagenes/2010/04/14/futbol/equipos/barcelona/1271199619_0.jpg

Pool will win the EL if Torres manages to keep himself fit and unsubbed. Atlético are awful. -
Cronaldo was wearing one the other day, do they pass it around? he actually thinks that it helps his fitness to do with helping his teeth ?!? He says that biting it when shooting helps him give more power to his shoots.

Trying way too hard to do youtube clips at the moment. Get a second first dammit.

Dani Alves overhead kick hits the crossbar Wanna get a second first and then we can start taking the piss.

Bojan opens the scoreline 1-0
-
Heck, Pedro doesn't miss those often.
-
Looks like, despite scoring, Rose has managed to be shit enough to get himself subbed at HT.

4-2-4/4-4-2, we have been using it seldomly these past games, has the advantage of putting Messi nearer to the goal but without having to battle it on his own (earlier this season we played Messi as ST in a 433 and he was bullied out easily)

Oh, regarding the "club vs country" discussion we had going yesterday, one of the talking points going around in Spain is if Iniesta should rush his recovery to be able to play the last games of the season for us (including a potential CL final) or play it safe and don't risk his WC chances. You had a similar situation with Rooney, the way Fergie risked him.

Casual. We have a bunch of big matches coming up and our squad is a bit depleted. Henry hasn't taken the field since his sub appearance in the first leg of the Arsenal match. Even Jeffren gets in the lineup before him nowadays.

15 minutes. Barça: Valdés; Alves, Márquez, Piqué, Maxwell; Touré, Xavi, Jeffren; Messi, Bojan, Pedro Depor: Aranzubia; Manuel Pablo, Lopo, Piscu, Laure; Antonio Tomás, Sergio, Guardado, Pablo Álvarez, Juan Rodríguez, Riki Looks we'll do the 4-4-2 again. Live and you'll see!

Atletico continue to f*** up my bets this season. Why do I never learn Xerex at home though...Howay!! Never, EVER bet in an Atlético match. Learn that lesson.
-
They just switched off the league already. Calderón booing their own players though. can xerez stay up still? 6 points off, and two other teams above them. Huge ask at this point, but they have made a better show of themselves than expected (people were foreseeing sub-25 point tallies)

Marca reporting Real Madrid have bid €25m for Silva, and that Valencia is asking for 35.
