  1. Always liked Senderos, think he's better than he's credited for. Also, Moyes might want to ship Heitinga to the RB at some point? I think you could use him there instead of Hibbert. Or are you playing Neville there again? (I know he came back recently)
  2. Do not want. Huh!?! I assumed it was sarcasm. Probably. Sarcasm doesn't translate well on a forum. I just really don't like Hleb. He's never impressed me, of course I wouldn't really be opposed to that, as he'd probably fit well enough here. Can't stand him either. Always felt he wasn't good enough for Arsenal. The ultimate walk the ball into the goal guy. Never crossed or shot the ball EVER! Unbelievably weak also and always going down. Also thinks he's better than he is. Rubbish. Absolutely dead on with that description. Lazyarse and a twat, he's only talked smack about us since he left for Stuttgart, like it was everybody else's fault but him that he didn't make it. But errmmmm... I was supposed to recommend his signing He would still be much better than anybody you have in your midfield.
  3. Just checked, we have Hleb on €3m a year net, and our valuation of him is €10m. We almost *never* manage to sell our rejects for less than a few copper, mind. Gudjohnsen went for 0+€2m addons this season.
  4. I assume he'll want European football again, but he'll be crazy if he expects a CL side to go for him, he's not having the greatest season at Stuttgart. I reckon a return to English football would be best for him to revive his career (funny that he still played in around 50% of the games of a treble-winning side last season). Wages admittedly would be crippling for your current situation. I don't know if Stuttgart is paying 100% though (wouldn't surprise me if they weren't).
  5. We'll need some place where to ship off Hleb again.
  6. Oh, I like Sullivan. Matter of taste, I guess.
  7. There's no section for Southern Europe! (Spain/Italy/etc...) I voted the USA.
  8. Positively, every time I have tried to get into MLS he makes it harder. How he pronounces "Juan Pablo Ángel" as "One Pablo Angel" for some reason always pisses me off. Try and get the names of your players right.
  9. Oh, and from Spain my favorite is Joaquim Maria Puyal, the first to broadcast a Barça game in Catalan and still doing so 30 years later, every week (except when he had surgery ten years ago). It's customary between oldschool fans to carry a radio at Camp Nou and listen to him while you watch the game. The guy is *intense*, and some of the most historic moments of Barcelona (Koeman's goal at Wembley for example) are forever linked to his voice. Then there's Julio Maldonado "Maldini", who's made color commentary for La Ser, C+, etc... guy's a living football encyclopedia. They used to run a section at half time where people would phone in and ask about the most obscure footballers and he would know which club they played, the position, how the season was going for them, etc... He was the foreign football expert in their network, and the guy that got me interested in English football in the first place. The late Andrés Montes was very fun to listen to. He was actually a NBA commentator that was hired to do La Liga for Gol TV when it started in Spain. He knew fuck all about football (understandably), and he narrated the games like he did the NBA, which was pretty colorful. Nowadays I also listen a lot to Joan Maria Pou for RAC 1 Radio at Catalonia. He is just decent I'd say, but I like his style, humorous but professional.
  10. Ray Hudson. Man, learning English was worth it just for him.
  11. assuming that's supposed to answer my question, let me clarify, why is HE coming here? promising championship defender gets a move to the premier league, gets unlucky and for whatever reason doesnt get played, then signs up for more time on the bench....back in the championship, nothing about that strikes you as a bit odd? unless we're paying him big wages? nah he's guranteed first team football? nah he doesnt actually think he's that good and wants to sit on the bench? erm his only reason for coming here is just to get away from pompey? maybe http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/9633/williamson.th.jpg You're the Punisher!! Big fan of that comic-book Plus FM is awesome, they predicted the transfer would get delayed!

    Tevez

I don't understand why Marquez isn't playing anymore. Is him a bit s**** nowadays ? I thought Marquez-Puyol was a very good partnership. Then Barcelona went on to buy Gabriel Milito, Gerard Pique, Martín Cáceres, Henrique, Dmytro Chygrynskiy ... Well, both Márquez and Puyol are in their 30s, so we have been looking to underpin our CB partnership for the past two seasons which should explain the signings (Piqué was intended as a rotation/backup player, it's just his great performance what has got him to first choice). Márquez wasn't the paciest centreback to begin with, and that has got worse with age. He still has great positioning and is great at taking the ball out, but he is no longer first choice against quality opposition, and I would feel *very* nervous if he started in a big game. Guardiola intended to slowly phase out Puyol this season (he's 32), but the fact Chygrynsky's been awful and Puyol's been great has put a stop to that so far.

    Tevez

We tried to sign Tévez when he ran us ragged during a preseason friendly against Boca in 2003, but we couldn't afford him after buying Ronaldinho, Márquez, etc... He made a fool of Márquez that day actually, I remember when I was at the stands swearing at that slow as ***** Mexican we had just signed. What a t***
  15. It has also surfaced that clueless tosser Pernía, Racing's chairman, already sold 50% of Canales' rights to Deportivo La Coruña in exchange of local hero Pedro "no legs since 2005" Munitis, so Racing will hardly see a dime of the transfer (and Racing have a debt almost 5 times their turnover*) *debt for which the regional Cantabrian Government is partly a guarantor.
  16. Seems it worked, they have just announced the signing for 6m. He will remain at Racing on loan for this season, and probably the next (he wouldn't get a sniff at Real right now).
  17. Saw Weiss at Camp Nou when we played a friendly against City this summer, he looked quite a player.
  18. Real Madrid has given a week to Canales' agent (his dad) to decide if he signs for them. It sounds tough, but that's when the transfer window closes, so Still think he will go to them, although the EPL clubs are reportedly giving him more money. Wigan are reportedly chasing Villarreal's young goalscorer Marco Ruben and Mallorca's Aduriz, to replace the struggling Jason Scotland. Nacho Novo has admitted (quotes and all) that he would like to go to Celta and play out the rest of his career in Spain when his current Rangers contract expires.
  19. Incidentally, now that we are on the subject of Cole, please humour me. Why was he sold? I have always wondered what brought that transfer.
  20. Lazy with bad attitude...occasionally good but more often than not, anonymous. And i've definitely seen him more than you. andy cole at bristol city that. Cole was always known as a raw talent but with pace and good finishing.Best isn't. Yes, he was even known in Spain as a promising English player. I perfectly remember how they ran a report on him in our "MOTD" way back when he was at Bristol, hosted by Julio Maldonado (how I remember that I don't know).
  21. 100,000/w for a possible loan until the end of the season isn't that much of a burden. What is it? 16 or so weeks?
  22. More DMs for City! Marca has linked Fernando Gago to ManCity and Boca Juniors. His agent has admitted there are "clubs interested" and that the player wants out.
  23. So they got him for 2m, and will sell him back just to cover a 1m debt from that same transfer, without ever playing him. Canny business that
  24. Tommy Smith has had a few stints at the EPL, doesn't he? I remember him at Sunderland. Doesn't seem to have what it takes for the top division, then.
