  1. Manquillo just allowed Gabbiadini to walk around him for the first, the 2nd one was an unstoppable penalty. His kicking was poor again today but he can't be blamed for either of the goals ffs.
  2. He played against Forest at home in the League Cup and was absolutely terrible. Not sure he's had any league minutes at home.
  3. Don't know why he made the challenge. It was going out for a goal kick.
  4. He just let him run around him! Should never be conceding a goal like that at this level!
  5. Dont know why they don't target Manquillo more. Every time their winger goes up against him he manages to get his cross in.
  6. Load of people seem to be having bother getting there today. Trains an absolute nightmare apparently.
  7. Need a good performance from Hayden today. He'd been poor for the 2/3 games leading up to him being dropped and he's playing in place of a very important player.
  8. "We haven't got any time to talk about sunderland" Even in the 2nd division they're seen as a nonentity by the people covering it.
  9. Shocking that the first decent team they face and Mourinho reverts to type. He spoils the game and plays for a 0-0 every time any one of his teams goes away to another big club. Awful viewing for the neutral supporter but in saying that I fancy them to nick this 1-0.
  10. Tbf I think the name change has been well enough recieved apart from half a dozen or so on here (who don't matter anyway) who enjoy getting their knickers in a twist over the most trivial of things. 'WE' obviously do matter though! You might think you do but you'd be wrong to make that assumption. From what I've read, save for a few people on here, the enforced name change has been well received with it being incorporated under the Wor Hyem name which has had massive success in a very short space of time. It's easy to stand there and criticise other people's hard work from a distance and I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised that if most of those on here who are criticising don't contribute towards the group anyway whether that be financially, helping set up displays or participating in the Gallowgate on a matchday. I've never criticised anyone so... Other than calling it a "naff name, fu*king s***" and saying "It's something you wouldn't personally bother with" due to the name you are quite corrrect

  12. Sadly can only see a mackem win today. Had the misfortune of seeing QPR a couple of times on the telly this season and they have a truely dreadful side.

  14. If you weren't all that serious about not donating because of the name then I wasn't all that serious when I was slagging off people for not boycotting games then. Quite easy this! Nice to see how silly you feel for saying you wouldn't donate cos you don't like their name as well with some textbook backtracking
  15. There is no problem other than the one a handful of people on here (who let's be honest don't matter anyway in the grand scheme of things) are trying to create.
  16. Well that makes for a pleasant start to the day.
  17. I may be missing something here but why do we need national publicity on this? These flags are for us, if visiting fans or people on TV like what they see then great, they'll tell their friends the atmosphere at st james' is fantastic. I really know know why the name is that important. Despite my point, I also don't like the new name! It's just people overthinking things and trying to make out it should be something it doesn't really need to be. What it is, is a relatively small group of people organising displays which they ask other people to join on with once they're in their seats before kick off, whether that be holding up your own flag or banner, maybe one that's been left beside your seat, or passing one of the huge surfer flags over your head. If they have any new displays planned whereby they need to raise money for materials they advertise through their social media pages and in the past the likes of NUFC.com and the Chronicle have also helped to publicise this. As far as I am aware they don't want to turn it into a huge brand that gets Nationwide exposure which is one of the reasons they didn't want the club to get involved in an official capacity other than allowing them stadium access and storage space.
  18. How do you know a fair percentage of fans think it's s***? Please don't say you're basing that on what a dozen or so people on here (who love to moan about anything anyway) are saying. From what I've read on social media the name has been quite well received and the Wor Hyem and Gallowgate Flags Twitter accounts both had similar sized followings (4.5k each) so the earlier comments about the name not reaching out to people on places like Twitter/Facebook etc are largely unfounded. They could have came up with a better name, I agree, but what the group are called isn't going to stop most normal people from chipping in a few quid every now and then when they have a big display planned or from holding up a flag before the match. Anyone standing there in the huff, arms folded and refusing to participate when one of the surfer flags goes over their head because they don't like a name is a bit of a tit tbh. To be honest i am mainly going off what posters on here are saying. What makes me laugh though, is you're discrediting this forum as a poor source of opinion then in literally the next sentence you use Facebook and Twitter as a source for your side of the argument! Howay man we all know that the majority of people that use social media are morons, the exactly reason why i got rid of them both about a year ago. I'd rather go off this forum where at least most posters can actually string a sentence together. I've also worked in advertising/marketing and it's been proven time and time again that the name of a brand/business has a significant effect on how it performs, especially when that brand is relying on donations from the public. You're right, some people won't be arsed about the name, but Gallogate Flags stand a much better chance of growing if they have a name that doesn't sound daft. I'm not expecting you to agree with me all of a sudden but that's my opinion based on what i know I mentioned Twitter and Facebook in response to him suggesting growing the brand on social media.

  20. You're overthinking this. It's a group of lads/lasses making and displaying some flags. The rest of the people in the Gallowgate will hold them up/pass the surfer over their heads regardless of what they call themselves. Brand development If its Mickey and his mates aye, but if you want to develop something that the club will allow and work with, that the media will cover, that can grow on social media and become more than juts a bunch of mates with flags and stuff it is essential you get the name right. Go with Wor Hyem and I guarantee it will not get anywhere near the traction Gallowgate Flags has and that's because its a naff name, in fact its f***ing s*** and something I wouldn't personally bother with just on that principle alone. Mind, I'm a t***, but I come from a background in brand development, web design etc. In this day and age of social media and with the traditional media all for fan groups etc., its vitally important to get the right name and branding. If you think it means nowt, that's because you know nowt. Pathetic. Doubt even Michael Martin could spit a dummy that far.

  22. Even when we had a brilliant team under Keegan and Robson (far better than the current team) it was just one of those places where we could never get a result at. We've only scored 1 away goal in 3 games as well despite all those games being against teams that'll be down the bottom come the end of the season so I'm not really sure why people would have too much cause for optimism. I expect a defeat and will be pleasantly surprised by any other outcome.
  23. This season has made me absolutely despise Sunday games, absolutely cannot wait for a 3pm Saturday game again whenever that is. The next one after Southampton.
