  1. Doubt it. We were in the relegation zone for much of last season and selling out wasn't a problem.
  2. Seaham platform is rammed with supporters for every NUFC home weekend game. Seen it for myself. You're right though loads of NUFC fans also get on between Middlesbrough and Seaham.
  3. Surprisingly a lot of Newcastle fans live in Seaham. Certainly you'd be very lucky to even get a standing space on the train from there to Newcastle when we are at home. Northern Rail had to start doubling the size of their train from there to 4 carriages for NUFC home games last season after complaints that fans literally couldn't get on them.
  4. Suppose it's his money. He's free to do as he pleases with it.
  5. I did say that to him. Wants back in at the first available opportunity though
  6. A workmate of mine who absolutely hates Rugby has bought a ticket for tomorrow just to get back inside SJP again! Says he's going to go in, buy a pint, take it to his seat to drink, and then leave. I can think of better things to do with 30 quid!
  7. Read last night that they'd sold 37,000 so far for Bilbao so with still over 3 weeks until the game that will be a certain sell out. Don't think Atalanta is selling as well. Might just scrape 40k for that one.
  8. I'm a member and they still charged me a quid booking fee. Is that right because in the past season ticket holders and members never had to pay booking fees?
  9. Bilbao selling far better than Atlanta. Should be near enough a sell out in the Saturday, maybe around 40k on the Friday night.
  10. Aye there's a few of us going on Saturday. Been to Magic a few times now and it's a class atmosphere with all tne fans of various teams mixed together. Always a good day on the drink as well, especially being allowed to take it to your seat with you. A bit sad I know but I'm looking forward to it a bit more this time to see what the newly decorated concourses look like!
  11. They get free replacement cows.
  12. The Leazes is far bigger than the Milburn if you include the corners. Also the Milburn loses a lot of seats due to it being home to most of the corporate hospitality as well as the directors box. Seats in there are a lot more spaced out than in the Leazes End. When the Leazes was built in 1993 it had a capacity of 11,140. Since then around 1,800 seats were added in Level 4 (under the TV studios), plus around 7k seats directly above in Level 7, and L7 corner.
  13. Milburn Stand; 14,844 East Stand; 5,240 Leazes End; 20,062 Gallowgate End; 12,043
  14. It'll be a lot more than 10k like! We've only got 30k season ticket holders now and in 17/18 we had 44k. You can't seriously tell me that demand is less than it was under Mike Ashley! We could comfortably sell 55/60k season tickets right now if we had the capacity.
  15. I was in that queue. We joined the queue at 7pm the previous night and it was already the full length of the Gallowgate and going around to the East Stand. Got beat 1-0 as well
  16. This is some signing if it comes off! I seen him in the flesh back in February as I was at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea v Lille and I thought he was outstanding. Such an imposing figure but in typical Dutch style so comfortable on the ball and always wanting to play out from the back. This signing is a massive statement from the owners, no doubt about it.
  17. You've been able to pay by DD when booking online in the past so you should be allowed to do on Tuesday I'd think.
  18. I take my 9 year old son with me now. No chance of getting 2 tickets and 1 is no good to me if I can't take him so a membership will be the way forward for us until they either extend SJP beyond 60k or build a new 70k+ stadium somewhere.
  19. Used to be 4 tickets allowed per membership but that is now down to 2, so you'd need 2 memberships to get the 3 tickets you need. No mention about what will happen for memberships for the 22/23 season but I suspect they'll continue. In fact I don't think we'll see a Newcastle league game go on general sale again for years. It'll be a closed shop for season ticket holders/members.
  20. Was reading something the other day which stated they'd sold 9,000 U16s season tickets at £48 a pop and seemingly a lot of parents buy the extra ticket as it's so cheap even if it's only to take the bairn to 4 or 5 games over the season as it still works out cheaper. Would also explan why when they were quoting 30k+ crowds last season it was evident that the true figure was far lower. Either way I hope they remian the "biggest" team in the Championship for years to come, although I wouldn't be adverse to another stint in Division 3 for them so they could renew hostilities with all their old marras.
  21. Watched one game in there years ago and it was shite. With there being a slight lag in the live TV pictures you could hear the crowd celebrating the goals before you actually seen it hit the back of the net "live".
  22. I'm good mates with Mel who owns Okkulo. He's NUFC daft and approached the club a while ago well before the takeover but they weren't interested. He's since been in contact with the new owners and they are interested and he's hoping to strike a deal with them before too long. He's in the States at the minute hoping to tie up a deal with New York Red Bulls.
