  2. Very classy behaviour on show there.
  3. They already do this in Holland although it's only put to use for away games. We have season tickets at PSV and if you also want to travel to away games they insist that you download a photograph onto your ticketing account otherwise you can't travel to away games regardless of how many loyalty points you have. They brought this rule in last year to counter rising hooliganism problems first and foremost, not touting. Not sure how it works for domestic away games as we don't do them, but for Arsenal away in the Championship League back in September they scanned our season tickets at the designated meeting point and our photographs appeared on their computer screen. Was only then when they'd hand the tickets over.
  4. We are struggling to get people in through the turnstiles now. The queues this season have been unprecedented. Adding further checks at the gates certainly isn't the answer.
  5. I'll be honest I much preferred the ticketing system in the 1990s than today's shambles. The only odd tout you seen was bloke on the street and it was a breeze to access the ground. No daft ballots or randomly allocated seating. It was just better. Digital ticketing is a touts paradise and is the reason why more and more of these touting websites are springing up.
  6. People on twitter kicking off over that photo of Charlotte from NUST sat with Staveley and Caulkin on a train from Bournemouth last night. Apparently she openly admitted that she didn't even have a season ticket 2 years ago so people doing the maths have worked out it would be impossible to have amassed to required loyalty points for that particular fixture.
  7. We were at that one too. We got in 10 mins late and I remember walking in and one of the stewards saying we were 2-0 down and had a man sent off. Thought he was winding us up. He wasn't!
  8. It's not supposed to be an audition tape for Top of the pops.
  9. Think Dortmund was flights only.
  10. Aye it's good to see people looking after him for tickets now considering how he looked after so many back in the day. We first started travelling with him back in 1994 and for the first season or so I struggled to get tickets for the big games at places like Old Trafford and Elland Road but he always found 1 for me somehow. Reckon I must have done almost 200 away games with him from 1994-2008. One of the best things about Ashley leaving was him coming back.
  11. Since Ashley pissed off. Seen him at a couple of matches last season, including Southampton away in the LC Semi Final.
  12. That was always my way of thinking but after hearing stories about Dortmund, and having a ticket for Wembley in February when a lot of the lads I travelled with didn't, it appears that on both occasions the better time was had by those who didn't enter the stadiums. This seasons ticketing fiasco has turned me into more of an armchair fan and whilst years ago that would have horrified me, I quite enjoy having a few pints beforehand, watching the match in a pub and and then meeting up with those who went to the match afterwards. Nowadays actually being there isn't the be all and and all for me. A lot of the time it's a bit of a hassle which the experience inside doesn't really warrant. If we played in a city which I really fancied visiting I'd happily travel to it ticketless.
  13. Literally read dozens like this.
  14. The support getting absolutely slaughtered on twitter right now from those who were there. Haven't heard a single positive comment about it. The home support getting mixed reviews tbf so maybe not all they're cracked up to be either.
  15. Money talks I suppose and I very much doubt the SRU who owns Murrayfield are in a position to turn down big money, but I don't see why we'd need to move whilst the work is being done anyway. The extension from 36k to 52k was pretty massive and we only lost a few hundred seats to accommodate a temporary floodlight pylon in the NW corner then. Liverpool have managed to get Anfield from 44k to 54k without losing any capacity and their latest development going from 54k to 61k has only cost them 3k seats whilst the work is being carried out.
  16. Gary Neville, who was a defender himself, said no way in the world was that a foul so it just shows how people can interpret things differently. With the ref giving the goal on the field I don't think there's enough there to say he's made an error which needs to be overturned.
  17. Surely he'd just then become what that Tyneside Life bloke has become. Not sure if he does very well or not as these blogs aren't really my thing and I don't tend to watch them.
  18. I know why he's picked this team but it just feels like it could be a massive missed opportunity if we don't win. A win would mean both Manchester teams, Spurs and Villa already out (Arsenal losing). What a great chance that would be to get our first domestic trophy since 1955!
  19. I was at West Brom. One of the best away ends I've been in. Ever.
  20. If they are trying to squeeze every penny out of members now on a match by match basis you can bet they are coming for season ticket holders next.
  21. Was a brilliant night. Atmosphere was superb. We were in the Three Bulls before the match and my mate from work rang me to say he was in a taxi with Gazza and they were on their way to meet me. 10 mins later he comes strolling in with Gazza and the place just went mental! There were a few Cardiff fans in there and even they were all over him. It got a bit too much after a while so we went to Pacific for a game of pool. Played Gazza twice, he wanted to play for money and I remember he only had about 8 quid on him! Then we went off to the match and Gazza stayed in Pacific. Woke up the next morning to the news that he'd been arrested outside the Gate
  22. No that is just ridiculous and is the reason many West Brom fans boycotted it and there was so many empty seats in the home end as well, despite it being a derby. I paid €19 to watch Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend, in comparison. Overall fan experience absolutely pissed on what we have over here as well.
  23. Ah right. I assumed the cock up was because they'd got the kids prices wrong and they were coming up as £0. Didn't realise they'd also cocked up the adult prices!
  24. It was indeed! I had a season ticket up there back then in the balcony part more or less right on the segregation divide. The look of sheer anguish and pain on the mackems faces as they started streaming out after Sholas penalty was brilliant. Only downside was my mate being thrown out after the 2nd goal. His crime? Over celebrating
  25. It's dodgy as fuck. Surprised if it's allowed and if it is, it shouldn't be! There's literally no transparency within the ticketing department at all. They just seem to be a law to themselves. Not sure how they can justify Chelsea being a more attractive match than Arsenal.
