He's like the anti MON. Pardew? Why? 1. Victim of his own success. 2. I seriously don't think he know's what to do to turn it around. 3. The players up to now have got off lightly for what has happened. I don't feel sorry for him. He's a grown man, in a fortunate position being paid a lot of money (relative to the rest of us I mean, I know it is less than most PL managers) and he's supposed to know what he is doing. I would agree with you though on all three points. 1. He got lucky. Everything clicked last season, even to the degree of previously good teams having nightmare seasons. In reality we should have finished 8th at most if other teams had performed to their correct levels. 2. Amen. He is looking clueless. I honestly believe he can't understand how it has all gone so wrong, hence all the excuses he trots out on a weekly basis. 3. For me this is the absolute key. The players should be getting absolutely coated for the abject performances they have been putting in. I accept that they are being poorly managed tactically, but that doesn't explain the basic lack of ability most of them have shown at times this season. *Abject, schoolboy level defending *Passes that go nowhere near their intended destination *Set piece deliveries continually hitting the first man OR being smashed so far over everyone Superman would struggle to get them *Being offside for what seems like 75% of the chances that come your way *Gutless and Spineless performances, where even the base level of "putting in 100%" is seriously in question The fact that these are a group of quality full international footballers makes all of the above hard to pin ENTIRELY on Pardew. Although, as always, the manager is the one who will ultimately take the blame.

We never win when you attend though. Not true. I was at the Chelsea game in February. Although I will admit in the year up to that my record was on the poor side.

Union Rooms at 7am. Guess that is where I will be. Beats standing around in the cold. Just about to head in to London to get the overnight coach. Mildly excited. Not really nervous at all. We'll smash this lot, of that much I am sure.

I could post some pictures of the last one, if I wasn't about to head to work. I'm sure there must be one of Myself, The Enforcer, Stu, Disco, Neesy, Semtex, Dino, Niel, Greg and a few more in a cage in Sinners singing Oh Coloccini. Good times. -

Have you told Semtex about this? -
The coach station is right opposite The Grosvenor Casino which is open 24 hours. I'm pretty sure that's a bad idea. Can you just stroll in there anyway, don't need to be a member or anything?
-
My coach gets in to town at 6am. If anyone can recommend anywhere to go for a couple of hours I'd be grateful, not too far out of town mind, my knowledge of the outskirts of Newcastle is limited to places I have been for NOFC games and the hotels I have stayed in. Pretty sure I'll be having breakfast in Union Rooms at 9am though.

I think if anyone actively considers themselves to be a keeper, or is alright with doing a half on the promise they will be on the turf for the whole 60 minutes then they should declare it now. That way they can be incorporated in to the selection process before the random draw. I think doing four fifteen minute stints could be a problem, changing keeper during the game will cause a delay and I don't recall them playing any added on time when we did this before. Also if you haven't sent crofty your preferred position then you should probably do it n the next day or two. -

Well, people were moaning about having to buy boots/shin pads. And some people will be spending a lot of money to even get there as they aren't local. I'm not bothered myself, but others may be. Either way, we need a decision and the teams to be sorted ASAP. Less than 8 weeks till this now. -

Gaz, you have done superbly mate. I was a bit worried it would sort of fizzle out if we were all separated, but this is great news. Really looking forward to this. To prevent people having to buy the kit if they don't want to, why don't we just go Home kits (any vintage as long as it's black and white stripes) vs Away/Change kits. I know last time everyone got the yellow kit but we may not be able to get that done again. Finally, can I nominate SEMTEX productions in association with D.Burnip Films(Philadelphia) to produce the online selection video again. It was epic last time. -

hmmmmm, I'm a size 12... but i think I have an 11 knocking around, so you could use them? Where approx do you live/work if I was to try the 11's?... I know times are hard, but seriously, you could get a pair of cheap boots from Mike's Emporium for less than £20 (unless you are one of those super duper fans who doesn't shop there anymore) . You are treading the hallowed turf, you owe it to yourself and the stadium to make the effort. -

Last time we did this i spent the first half in net. I'm a pretty good keeper but I would rather have the whole game outfield this time. In my time playing there isn't a position I haven't played, I'll do a job in any spot. I'll happily play anywhere we need anyone to fill in. I guess it depends on the quality of the opposition. Best is CB but I'm not fussed. -

I don't mind either time slot, with regards to the teams I think the one's I suggested earlier in the thread makes most sense. -
Great shout! Could help you with a ticket for the derby if you like.
-
I'm so proud of my thread. Could be my first entry in to HOF come the end of the season. Benfica fans seem absolutely nuts, good lads all round. Considering making a long weekend of the Benfica/Mackem period. Could be a cracking few days.
-
Benfica are tough, but not unbeatable I think. A few bonuses for us though; A team we will know enough about. Not too far away, good for both the team and the fans. 2nd leg at home, especially beneficial with the mackem game that weekend. Could have gone a lot worse.
