Perez lying for fun in an interview again. It's a shame he'd never do this with a media member who would challenge him. Must be absolutely awful to work with.

I don't think it was a bluff, they got a massive JP Morgan loan from it and apparently signed non-binding contracts. I genuinely think it was just a clusterfuck because the people who really put it together are incompetent and are used to things just going right for them. Whether they win or not remains to be seen, but they definitely lost today. It's embarrassing for all involved and the PL and UEFA now have a remit to fix things for everyone, not just those clubs, because the threat of a breakaway league is pointless for now. I know neither will do it, but they're more powerful than ever.

Literally went forward with it without a TV deal in place and not even a full league It was a farce from the beginning and it's no surprise considering some of the people involved are operating a few of the worst run clubs in Europe.

Going to be class when the key external stakeholders are back in the stands

Agnelli and Perez going would be incredible outcomes. I can't believe this, what a great day

Dreams cannot be buy

It was mentioned on Football Weekly this morning. Saw someone else in here say it too so not sure if it was reported elsewhere

City and Chelsea were the two said to have joined last minute. Neither of them need it like the others, wouldn't be shocked if they're the first to give in.

A big part of this seems to be their assumptions about what fans abroad/younger fans want without doing any research to figure out if they're correct and if this risk is worth it. After covid, I don't know how possible it is for media companies to pay the money for tv rights their expecting. It's certainly not going to happen here.

It doesn't even get Americans excited anymore. Attendance drops every year, no one is consistently paying $100 to watch friendlies.
-
Fair play to the leagues and FA for stepping up. Thought they'd finally give in.

Well, weird.

Think Perch could've been a useful utility player off the bench in a Europa League campaign, but obviously that's not he we used him and we saw way too much of him. Also even if Riviere made one appearance it would've been too much. Colback Ryan and Steven Taylor Obertan etc.

Going to extend the TAA/England discourse for another week.

listened to about half of it after finding it and had the same feeling. It's physically painful.

For the kickoff of our 2-1 win against Arsenal at SJP a few years ago Arlo White for NBC did the most overwrought, painful Game of Thrones analogy possible. Went on for about a full minute, maybe longer. I think they took the youtube video down, but I still think about it. Edit: Nvm it was our 3-2 loss to Liverpool, the other game I went to which caused the confusion. Here it is, definitely Arlo White and not Peter Drury, too

It looks like Orlando can recall him whenever so not sure if they plan to do that by opening day. Kind of a weird situation. Can't remember a young MLS player going on loan in Europe and succeeding like this.

It honestly feels like best case scenario considering how shit it could've been.

Barring some sort of worldwide pandemic lasting a decade or US Soccer being outed as a KKK religious sect, this team is going to be incredible.
