Looks like the 2006 (Shearer's testimonial), which is not a bad shirt if they had done it with gold. Sky blue screams of Ashley, Owen, relegation scrap, Wonga. Would love this one as our retro. Wore the original while watching the cup final, so I guess it's now my lucky shirt.

That was so satisfying to watch. Just love us when we're on song.

Think my wallet's in trouble. Singapore is the closest NUFC will ever be to Manila

It's lovely reading along through everyone's individual stories on here. Could only imagine what it would be like in Newcastle right now as I live all the way in the other side of the planet where the final kicked off at 30 past midnight. Final finished at 2:30 am then sheer euphoria meant I couldn't sleep until 4am. Somehow, I managed a full shift the next day, despite appearing to be teary-eyed every other hour while at work. This was among only a few NUFC games that made me cry, but it's the first one wherein the tears kept flowing well after the match and throughout the following day - it's surreal. Was lovely getting a lot of warm messages from mates who support the bigger clubs. It's as if winning a trophy was what we needed to come of age in their eyes. Was equally lovely to have the last laugh on a LFC-supporting boss who tweeted me a photo the day before about our trophy drought. Glad I just shut up until we won and let my team do the talking.

I felt like applauding Bournemouth after that tbf. One of the few times I've felt like this.

Yup, fuming as I was over how we went about the second half, they were outstanding. Had a great gameplan and executed it perfectly.

Glad that Brighton game got a mention. I remember the build up being all about how they suck in teams that press them and how we might come unstuck with how we play. Then to beat them 4-1 and practically qualify for the CL with it was just….can’t put it to words. One of the few games where I really cried happy tears. The 4-1 scoreline would prove quite prophetic too in hindsight.

RIP Sven. His last role was actually to manage here in the Philippines - leading the national team to our only Asian Cup appearance to date. Legacy.

This is a dream but it would be a wild dream to have. For a country with 110M population, the national team only average under 10k for home matches. Just shows how football is almost non-existent here, which makes it even more amazing to see a Newcastle top on sale in a local Adidas.

Been following Newcastle for two decades here in Manila and it's the first time I've been able to buy a Newcastle top in a local Adidas rather than having it shipped from overseas.
