This season’s blue kit is a banger, good nostalgic nod and would have been an absolute classic. But it will be associated with our away form (or lack of it) in this year. When I saw he wasn’t starting again (which was expected), I lost most of my motivation to watch tbh. Wolte just represents that change of approach that we’ve been crying out for which, for whatever reason, we seem allergic to make. Even with five defeats in a row and all that.

I feel he could still do a job tbh. He shouldn’t play thrice a week at this level but it’s an incredible feat for him to manage that unscathed when Tino was out, then take the armband when Bruno followed him to the treatment room. MLS or maybe full circle at Burnley would be good for him.

That photo BDB posted of the huge Newcastle group in the England squad - think of how it was just this man when he signed for us. No doubt would have helped many to get to that step.
