  4. I think this too, he'll get it right. I don't tbh. The Fellaini sigining is exactly why he shouldn't be their manager. He's more a Pardew type than a Ferguson when it comes to football philosophies. I think the same with his philosophies but i think he has too much talent in the team not be up there, he'll do enough to keep the job if they stay around the top 4. I think they've been punching above their weight for the last 2 seasons under Fergie, their squad on paper is no-where near the likes of City and Chelsea. Aye, ManU's squad never looked to have anywhere near the level of depth of talent that those two had.
  5. Me too, but we could do better. He'd make us more stable though I doubt he'd be an improvement over Pardew in utilizing our supposed "attacking talent"
  6. Final nail in the coffin for Jol.
  7. Goal! My ManU-supporting dad is absolutely fuming in the other room
  8. Come on you should know that. You share a name with his new club.
  9. Out of curiosity, what happened to our Amalfitano? Haven't heard about him in ages.
  10. It kind of helps to be a rose among the thorns and follow a team like Newcastle in an area like mine littered with gloryhunters. When you meet football fans expecting you to answer Man U or Arsenal when asked what team you support, it feels great to be able to stick my neck out and say Newcastle. It gives them a notion that you seem to be more "in the know" as you have an unusual taste in clubs. Always have to concede the banter though due to NUFC's typical mediocrity. For that, I wish we could have an 11/12 season more often. It felt f***ing brilliant to have one year of being the noisy one among the ManU and Chelsea fans, especially after we beat them. I haven't met a natural Geordie yet, though I've seen a British looking man walking round a mall in our Championship banana kit. Shame I wasn't wearing my toon kit that day, would've sparked an interesting conversation. Still haven't been to Mecca Newcastle, though hopefully when I graduate I'd be granted my wish. Heard my university has some links to a number of schools in the UK so maybe I could jump if the chance presents itself. (As if I'm a top student though )
  11. It started out with my dad bringing this s*** home back when I was a kid: Somehow it got me stuck on it ever since.
  12. Whenever I've watched, it's always been a 3-1 loss or a 2-2 draw for us at Goodison. Guess I'll go for the latter.
  13. Jimmy Bullard Dean Ashton Ledley King Owen Hargreaves Harry Kewell Shame they're made of glass, really.
  14. GW6: Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea Aston Villa 1-3 Man City Fulham 1-0 Cardiff City Hull City 0-0 West Ham Man Utd 2-0 West Brom Southampton 3-1 Crystal Palace Swansea 2-2 Arsenal Stoke City 1-0 Norwich Sunderland 1-2 Liverpool Everton 2-2 Newcastle
  15. He's a midfielder but he stuck to his defensive duties more effectively than any of our back four.
  16. I fear this bit the most, and the repercussions it would have on Pardew's future team selections. I really wanted this team to get the convincing win to prevent him from hiding in his shell again to put in a no-frills style and lineup. It's true that after today, he should drop some players. However, I have no faith in his ability to pinpoint where and how the changes would be made.
  17. Seriously i don't think the rest were that bad.... but Debuchy was f*cking horrific. He's the main reason we lost today and i'm in a vile mood, thanks a lot you french t***. MYM and Colo were terrible too. I really don't think they were..... neither were to blame for any of the goals.... there were all Debuchy's fault.... the first two were due to his awful positioning and they both should have been picked up by him and even the third he was awful for and the midfield not picking up Aluko if he wasn't playing we win today IMO. I honestly couldn't blame Colo or MYM for any of the goals. MYM invited pressure tbh and Santon was often well out of position when we lost the ball. Bollocks. Nah, it takes more than 1 out of a back 4 having a bad day to be THAT all over the place. The whole backline was defending alone all game, which makes it look worse. Nope. Anita was dropping into positions when one of the back 4 would go for a run around. Aye. As intelligent as that is from Anita, he can't do it every minute.
  18. Hope we'd try Santon on the right and Dummett at left back. Undecided if MYM should be flogged for Saylor.
  19. Like the team, I follow up a decent week with a shower of s***.
  20. Krul 6 Debuchy 4 MYM 4 Colo 5 Santon 6 Anita 7 Sissoko 7 Cabaye 6 Ben Arfa 5.5 Remy 8 Cisse 3 Gouffran 5 Marveaux 5 Tiote 5 Pardew 4
  21. Pretty easy tbh for Hull to think of focusing on our right flank. Shut down Ben Arfa and exploited Debuchy. Two birds, one stone.
  22. And went back to the long ball which I haven't seen all season.
