  1. I presume everyone will be supporting us in the semi-final then?
  2. It's like watching a playground fight, embarrassing really.
  3. Yes it should. Nope, the ball clearly went out in the build-up to the penalty.
  4. Klasnic is so good in and around the 6 yard box, can't think of many better players than him on the turn. Hits the target every time.
  5. The Bolton-Villa game is absolutely incredible.
  6. Villa 1-0 up, Bent. Truly abysmal defending on our part.
  7. Ha, 1-1, Beausejour. This game has exploded into life!
  8. Mulumbu scores, awful defending by Birmingham. Think he's injured himself in the process.
  9. Hoping for a West Brom win here - it'll mean that Birmingham are more likely to rest players in the FA Cup QF next week as they've got Everton away on Wednesday. In fact, a draw will do.
  10. That's a good point, just realised the other Bolton players aren't following him. Nothing to see here.
  11. Hmm, Danny Sturridge's tweets tonight could land him in trouble: Here are a few excerpts:
  12. Okocha and Djorkaeff would be there too, Jaaskelainen if you need a keeper.
  13. That was for this season though, knowing UEFA/The FA they've changed it for next season. Very confusing indeed, would be nice to have clarification from the FA on this matter.
  14. Found this on UEFA's website: If the winner of the domestic cup qualifies for the UEFA Champions League, the domestic cup runner-up qualifies for the UEFA Europa League at the stage initially reserved for the lowest ranking top domestic league 2 representative (or the winner of another official domestic competition in accordance with paragraph 2.03). Should both the winner and the runner-up of the domestic cup qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the association concerned may enter for the UEFA Europa League the club which finishes the top domestic league immediately below the other club or clubs which qualify for the UEFA Europa League. In both cases, the access stage initially reserved for the domestic cup winner is reserved for the club which finishes the domestic league in the highest position out of all the clubs which qualify for the UEFA Europa League from the association concerned (see Annex Ia). Each representative of the domestic league will then enter the competition at the stage initially reserved for the domestic league representative ranked immediately above it.
  15. Hmm, according to Wikipedia (yeah, I know): If the winners have qualified for the Champions League, then the runners-up qualify for the Europa League. If the runners-up have already qualified for the Champions League or the Europa League, the highest placed team in the Premier League standings who have yet to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League would qualify for the Europa League. Can't find anything on the FA's website to counter this.
  16. Really? I thought Portsmouth were only stopped from playing in Europe because of their financial issues.
  17. There's a decent chance 6th might not even be enough. All depends on the semi-final draw and whether Birmingham/Bolton gets drawn against Stoke/West Ham. Even then, Man City might not get past Villa and Everton, meaning that there would be only 1 Champions League team in (Man Utd or Arsenal, presuming they beat Orient).
  18. Robinson has actually been one of our best players this season. Occasionally gets done for pace and has to resort to a late tackle (as in the Arsenal game), but makes up for it for actually being able to defend. Fulham identified Alonso as the weak link last week, and gave him a tough time in the first half - his positioning was dodgy to say the least. However, he was a totally different player in the second half, much more confident and composed. For all this talk of us being physical, we've probably only got 3 'tankers': our centre-backs and Davies. 4 if Muamba plays.
  19. A few, especially in defence. Knight and Ricketts injured, with Steinsson and Samuel only on light training at the moment. We have no recognised right-back, so Paul Robinson will probably play there and Marcos Alonso (19-yo signed from Real Madrid in the summer) at left-back as they did against Fulham.
  20. They'd want at least £15m for him. Probably. English with potential, etc. Edit: Is his contract not up at the end of next season? Think i read that somewhere but could be totally wrong. Maybe our resident Bolton supporter could clarify before he disappears after the end of tomorrow? Yeah, his contract runs out in summer 2012. Also, he's got a minimum-fee clause at £17M, but in reality we'd probably accept any offers over £15M.
