  1. Baffling why Brazil took so long with that goal kick at the end, get the ball and boot it up.
  2. No they didn't. Kicking a ball about is not football, it's kicking a ball about. Just like how having a scrap outside of a cave 4000 years ago wasn't boxing. When you wouldn't have modern day football without these "kickabouts" it clearly evolves from them. Calcio Fiorentino for instance had two goals, a pitch the size of around a normal football pitch, but 27 players on each team. These early variations mean as much for the modern game of football, perfected by the English in the 18th century, as our monkey ancestors matter in regards to what makes us human. It's not the same species/sport today, but we'd not be the same without them. Yeah, that sounds absolutely nothing like football. A sport is defined by it's rules, not the apparatus used. It's what separates rugby from american football, pool from snooker, poker from blackjack.

  4. you're right there like, no-one else would've put a corner in to the box.
  5. Motherfucking FIFA Biggest ban ever? There's been a lot worse than that. Have they even ever banned a player from league games before? Totally over the top. Obviously, he wants banning, like, but from fucking training? Hmm. It's a bit like when the whole of England were banned from Europe for the actions of 1 club.
  6. Don't forget this slimey mug http://i4.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article6210134.ece/alternates/s615/Gus-Poyet-1.jpg
  7. I don't think there's a more tired subject out there than "x sport is shit lol"
  8. The Greek fans Part 2 here...the English fans acting like total tw@ts unsurprisngly.... God that's embarrassing.
  9. Chiellini was bitten and has come out in his defense. It's a ridiculous punishment, ban him 4,6 months 12 months from football, but banning him from training and going to watch games is ridiculous and has nothing to do with a fair punishment and all to do with politics. It's ridiculous. Most of the world of football is defending him, everyone from Johan Alvbåge in Sweden to Falcao in Brazil to Alexis Sanchez to Chiellini in Italy. World Cup players are saying it's excessive. Why were Tasotti and Leonardo allowed in 94 to still be a part of the squad? Why weren't their credentials taken away from them and sent home? I don't care if it's three bites, ban him in official football games not on what he does in his sparetime, FIFA are really putting themselves into a dangerous zone by doing this and are going to have to go hard on every off the ball incident now. Chiellini likely feels bad to have been involved in the incident. Why is it ridiculous? It is important that its three bites, what has banning him from playing done previously? Made him feel sorry for himself & then repeat the same behaviour several times. So you propose the same punishment again? Clearly the guy needs something that will hit home when hes in the heat of the moment. Why is it ridiculous? Joey came out of prison hit a guy in one game then kneed another one, isn't that a three strike offence then? Why was he allowed near stadiums during his 12 game ban? Pepe, has had plenty of off-ball incidents trying to hurt players, far more than three bites and never gotten this long of a ban. Sorry, but I've seen far worse, I'm not defending Suarez btw. If Pepe of Joey Barton had bit a player in a World Cup group game and then flat out refused to not only appologise, but to accept any liability whatsoever, the they would have been given a similar 'outrageous' ban. I'm unsure how to feel about the actual ban itself to be honest, it's harsh but hardly undeserved. Not being able to train seems more limiting to Liverpool than it does Suarez but it's hardly the end of the world, if he takes a month to get up to speed after his return then so be it.
  10. It was enough of a bite to embed teeth marks into Chiellini's shoulder.
  11. Biting is worse than spitting and punching, obviously
  12. You receive bans and fines for heavy tackles too. It's a contact sport, you expect people to be elbowed when challenging for the ball, you expect headbutts when things get heated, and these things predictably happen all of the time. People don't run and forearm smash opponents like Ben Thatcher did all of the time like, or nut with the ferocity of Zinedine Zidane, or bite people. These things are unique in the sport.
  13. so the point was made about peppe earlier, on his 3rd headbutt in the game or whatever and gets a 1 game ban...total bollocks he hardly touched him though, yes there was intent there, more as intimidation than to hurt Mueller. It doesn't matter, at least in the Premiership. I hate bans personally, I think they ruin the sport for the most part but anything regarding violent conduct should be treat seriously. EDIT: When I say I hate bans I mean for things such as picking up 5 yellow cards etc.
  14. so the point was made about peppe earlier, on his 3rd headbutt in the game or whatever and gets a 1 game ban...total bollocks Aye Pepe should have been banned for longer, I'm not sure if FIFA have set bans for violent conduct like the FA do but 1 game seems pointless. You get that for an innocuous foul in one game and taking your shirt off in the next.
  15. Mr W should try. That way, if it's bad, I'll jeer Ian. hate myself for laughing at this.
  16. I'm not relaxed about headbutts? They're an automatic 3 match ban, it's hardly a slap on the wrist.
  17. Players will get elbowed going in for a challenge, players will wind each other up and stick a head in, they'll kick out in frustration. It happens and they'll be banned accordingly. If they go overboard they'll be banned for longer, ie Ben Thatcher. Biting people is a different matter altogether.
  18. About 15-19 just going by her face IMO 17 according to that link Oh God ... Why is a girl her age at the World Cup anyway. Silly thing. Yum status revoked. I blame the Lasses in football tops thread for this crap. It has really fired up my passions these last few weeks. Hang on, you're repulsed NOW that someone has confirmed the girl is legal?
