Ali's right. Spurs could win all their games and still not finish 4th so it's not in their hands either. Spurs just so happen to have a significant goal difference advantage at present, but it's in neither team's hands in the real sense of the phrase. As soon as a team goes a point or more clear it's in their hands. We have a winner (well, another one who understands what I've said all along)! Are you taking the f***ing p*ss? Are you? So i'm thick as f*** for saying: You then agree with Interpolic who writes this exact same logic, just in a different manner It's not the exact same logic though. What you fail to understand is that saying "It's not in Newcastle's hands" does not equal "It's in Spurs' hands" as both are in fact relying on the results of the other, i.e. it's in neither's hands. I said the first, but never the second. I havn't failed to understand anything, you have however. You have confused "It's still in our hands" as "it's solely in our own hands". I expect an apology. but if it isn't solely in our hands whats the point in the statement ? Because it states that we can still finish 4th in spite of other results, if it wasn't in our own hands then that would not be possible, and infact it would be "solely in Spurs' hands". i see, blackburns fate is in their own hands aswell then as they can avoid relegation in spite of other results, just depending on what those results are ? No, hence why i've previously stated "in spite of other results". Blackburn will be relegated if other teams ahead of them win all of their games. -

No, with the helping hand of logic, this is in our own hands. It's also still mathematically in our hands of course, but you knew that. Enlighten me Not sure if you noticed, we're level on points with Spurs, not behind. I guess goal difference is a concept that's a little bit difficult for some people. Not mathematically in our own hands than is it? Yes it exactly is. You've tried to be pedantic, you have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.  *Leaves for the ace post thread* Don't. He's wrong and you'll look like an idiot.. It was a class post and 'mathematically' it's still in our hands, i'm sorry but it is. We CAN still finish 4th in spite of other results, so if Tottenham win all 5 games, we can still 'mathmatically' finish ahead of them. Mathematically it isn't in out favour. I don't even know why this is up for debate. -

Had a 5er on Wigan, Rennes & Sevilla and checked the scores in that order when I got in. I feel like crying -
Wow, fair play to Di Nitale. Really nice news.
-
Phili Auclair mentioned €4m one day and then £2m the next, probably just guess work.
-
The derby genuinely would be dangerous with the pair of them playing, like. They've both been involved in clear attacks on our players in the past (Cattermole seriously injuring atleast 2) so it would certainly make for a scary viewing. I've just got images of the pair of them Dudley Death Dropping Ben Arfa through a stretcher.
-
Imagine Lee Cattermole & Carl Henry in the same midfield man, might aswel plop Michael Brown alongside them too. There would be fatalities.
-
Sounds like a Greek god.
-
"He could have dealt with that" Fuck off, no way can does the keeper expect him to hit it that well like, he has to move ffs
-
This PA guy is fucking wild
-
Fucking hell
-
Seriously man, you cannot send him off for "denying a goalscoring opportunity" when the opposition scored man, if Adebayor had decided to flick it the other way then fair enough, if the referee had pulled play back for the foul then fair enough.
-
The offence is denying a goal scoring opportunity. The opportunity hasn't been denied so no red card. Doesn't quite work that way, you can give advantage anywhere on the pitch and go back and book or send someone off, but when its the GK and advantage is played it never happens. Its like an unwritten rule, just very odd. Be a bit hard to deny a clear goalscoring opportunity elsewhere on the pitch mind.
-
You would but the red card should still be shown. No reason why it isn't. Eh? I'm responding to Townsend's comment that Tottenham fans would rather have a goal rather than a penalty and their opposition down to 10.
