There was a line in the Chronicle (I know) when BZG released their first statement saying "However, the club have told us that the discussions are genuine". I'm not making anything up. Yes and the club have been found guilty in court of intentionally misleading the press, public and fans. Also, a word in an ear does not equal confirming anything. No point discussing things with you. You’d argue night was day So the club have been proven in court as liars, but you will still believe them. Couldn't make this shit up. BZG haven't though, and they're pretty convinced they're in the running. Anyway, the initial point I was getting at, is basically what Ian said above. Everyone knows it could go tits up thanks to Ashley, but there's no need to rubbish it all when it is clear there is a genuine buyer trying to take over.

BZG have claimed to have provided proof of funds. Theres no actual evidence to prove this. True but i bet you think they set up Monochrome acquisitions for a laugh. The club did nothing of the sort because they're not genuine, there's been no serious bid and a takeover won't happen this summer. That's not pessimism - it's the reality staring you in the face. 'at least 10-15 days' .... whatever is going on, I reckon there's a few more weeks of uncertainty before we get anything of note. Got less than two weeks before Rafa goes sadly Yup, which unfortunately means nothing as far as the takeover is concerned.

Amidst the Farrago of claim, counter claim & quasi-facts from anyone with an internet connection, GC is about the only one I give any credence to. If he says it could still all quite possibly turn to dogshit, that's good enough for me. Agree re Caulkin. However there's nothing new there, we all know it could easily go tits up, no matter how advanced talks are...Mike Ashley's involved. At the same time t could quite easily go the other way and pleasantly surprise us.

In any normal transaction proof of funds is something that happens right at the very beginning of the process. I can’t imagine this case being any different. It's the whole ambiguity of everything, theres fuck all verifiably true information about this whole thing. So people can assume whatever they want. There's no proof they have actually provided proof of funds, they haven't even stated themselves that they have done this. Apart from when they they said it and provided a date.

Having looked down his twitter, he says he 'sympathizes' with Newcastle. Has a lot of stuff about us on there. Maybe he's not actually on the wind up? Doesn't make it any more believable like.
