  1. people saying the money we get for jose will go towards a replacement.....were they not saying the other week that we already have money put aside for a replacement?

  2. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/07/19/us-visa-approved-too-late-for-yohan-cabaye-72703-29079848/

    s*** as f*** :(

ALAN PARDEW says that Yohan Cabaye has been granted a visa – however it will be processed too late for him to take part in the Magpies’ American tour.

Cabaye – who missed out on his visa due to a technicality believed to be caused by a disputed dental bill – linked up today with United’s reserve team for their tour of Holland.

Cabaye joins Joey Barton, Nile Ranger, Xisco and James Perch as one of the senior men on board, but Wayne Routledge’s place in the squad was in doubt with the winger in talks with Swansea City.

Speaking in Kansas, Pardew told the Chronicle: “We’ve already had word back that he will eventually get a visa, but it doesn’t help us, because we need it now. It’s a three-week process.

“It’s one of those situations, but for us, it became very frustrating.

“There was no talking them around, and unfortunately the process was too long for us to rectify it.”

But Pardew is determined to look on the bright side of things.

He added: “It’s unfortunate that Cabaye’s not with us, but I’m sure it won’t take him long to show just what a class act he is.

“I’m a disappointed at Yohan not being here, if I’m honest.

“It would have been nice to have him around this group.

“It was on such a technicality – he really should have got a visa.”

Meanwhile, Pardew has discovered that neither Danny Guthrie or Shane Ferguson are likely to be ready for the start of the new season.

The duo picked up ankle and leg injuries respectively at Darlington on Friday night.

Pardew said: “It’s not particularly great news on either of them.

“It’s looking like neither will be ready for the start of the season.

“Fergie has probably got more chance than Guthrie.

“It’s OK, we can cope, but if we lost another two, then it won’t be OK.

“I wouldn’t say we’re on a knife-edge with injuries, but our squad isn’t particularly big.”

"Arriving at the hotel .... 24 hours of travel but at least we are all together"

fuckin hell ... looks more like 28 days later

  4. Does anybody else let out a school boy laugh when they talk about putting something in the box on women's football?

    I'll get me coat.

They said "Alex Morgan did well to let that come across her." and I giggled like a little asshole.

she's hot as fuck....as was that hope solo, kept me watching :)

  5. Shearer's renamed Sir Bobby's and all takings to his charity.........

Or the east stand being named the bobby robson stand with a percentage going to the foundation. It should have been renamed ages ago....although shearers is probly more realistic

  6. Disappointed by this latest development like. Time to move on and concentrate on bringing in a new striker and left back.

All in all, guess Ashley wasn't impressed with N'Zogbia's fee/wage demands. (Can't see a problem with the fee personally :s).

We never made an offer so why would we know his wage demands?

exactly. was there ever really any concrete interest? (apart from the apparent january bid) It seems over the past month or so its all been "a source close to zog said...." .... and now we're 'admitting defeat', as if we were in competition with villa

  7. What difference does it make whether its new player wages or existing player wages for new deals? The wage spend is the wage spend.

just assumed the money was going towards new players and their contracts, not current players wages....difference being it reduces the amount we had to spend

probably my own fault, for actually believing something i read

Alan Pardew plays down Cheick Tiote fears

       * Jul 14 2011

ALAN PARDEW says he has not received an inquiry for Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote. Reports in London yesterday suggested Chelsea had enquired for the African star, but Pardew said today: "There has been no communication with Chelsea."

Pardew was also asked again if the £35m from the sale of Andy Carroll will be spent and told reporters: "Our wage bill has gone up by some distance.

"I'm not going to go into detail, but all the money is going to go back into the club.

"The finances are well documented, but we cannot compete with the big boys at this time."

There's where the money's gone then, looks like bargain basement (if any) signings from now on

How can anyone take any of that as gospel, man.

    Jesus f***ing Christ.

Well what would you rather he said, yeah we gonna spend it and then f*** all happens.  At least were being told straight about where it's going.

Also to you f***ing idiots Pardew said straight after when Carroll was sold that the £35M would need to include wages for players as well, so don't go on about you didn't know this bollocks.

aye, but when that was said...i (dunno about everyone else) assumed he meant new players and their wages, didnt expect them to be earmarking some of it for in case Jose signs a new deal. (cant remember where i read that, may well have been the ronnie gill)

have to admit, the optimism i had earlier in the window is definitely disappearing after hearing some of the s**** he's coming out with about Zog etc

  9. Really looking forward to this now like! Got the day off so heading down about 2ish I think. Can't wait for Hatem :smitten:

took the day off as well....but staying in town till about half 5-6....darlo's a s*** hole

How far is the ground from the train station or how far is Hogan's from the station?

read on the darlo website the grounds about 25 min walk from the station

  10. Theres no smoke without fire. We've denied it today but I feel this might haunt our summer.

aye, its a bit of a shitter

i wish i could bury me head in the sand during every transfer window and just find out the squad at the end  make it less stressful.  but instead i sit at work f5'ing it

  11. Wonder if we'll see a response from the club or Pardew on this. Though after the Carroll saga it wouldn't be worth a w*** anyway.

    i fucking hope not, if he's says he's staying, he's gone...if he's says he's going, he's gone :frantic:
