I'd rather have Jose for another season and let him leave on a free. It's evident that only a small fraction of the transfer fee we would receive would go into an adequate replacement. The clubs lack of ambition is one of the reasons Enrique won't agree a new contract and it's being proved that they won't spend £20m of a £35m fee because they make up s**** excuses like the free transfers cost a lot and Tiote's contract took up a big chunk of it.
apparently money from 'the carroll money' had been put aside for the replacement
so we can spend his fee on paint for the penalty spot

i'm with the people who dont mind if he sees his contract out
in reality, i'm pretty sure anyone after him is looking at him thinking 'last year of his contract? we'll get him cheaper than what fat ash is asking for towards the end of the window' ... much the same as the zog situation.
i'll be happy as the next person if he's still here come september, but i'd go as far to say i'm certain he wont be

Pardew on Jose Enrique: "He's made it pretty clear that he still won't sign a contract and that his future may be elsewhere." #nufc
from the journal this morning, said he's expecting him to run his contract down

wasnt it 6?
6 years!!! More money out of the 35 million! Sweet Jesus of Nazareth...just flinging this money about willy-nilly...!
keep going like this we'll have to sell colo to cover the cost. Any surplus can go towards new shower caps

Selling Tiote would be worse than selling Carroll
Even for £35 million?
I doubt we would get £35million for him - for that price I would consider it (though it would be on the same basis as the Carroll deal, it gets reinvested fully in the team and not on fancy showers and toilets at the training ground)
Of course we wouldn't get £35 million... £15 mil tops.
I wouldn't sell him at any price.
Unfortunately, the owners of the club will probably sell him if an offer above £15 million comes in...
may be me being naive but if 15 was the top offer to come in i dont think we'd let him go
another season like last season and he'll be worth a lot more come next summer
...and I think that it was they are holding out for. Like Dave said a few months ago, they will hope he improves on last season, thus proving last season wasn't a one-off. He will command a better fee this time next year. To be honest, I hope he picks up silly yellow cards all season - even if that means he only plays 30 games a season, a price worth paying to keep him here.
that just fucked my head
cant say i hope he picks up yellow cards, and to be honest...even if he does yet still plays the same as this season, dont think it'll make a difference to people coming in for him

News: More tales from the papers and The Times claims Chelsea have asked West Ham about signing Scott Parker on loan to provide cover for the injured Michael Essien.

I'd take Van Aanholt, Sturridge and 25 million for Tiote
i'd take that, throw some of the money at matuidi and we're laughing

Sky Bet latest:
Newcastle are now the 11/10 favourites to sign Charles N'Zogbia after Sunderland ruled themselves out of the running.
-
no mention of us not willing to pay wages in the journal article tho
-
How serious is our interest? I think we'd like him but at a certain price and wage. I think we are looking elsewhere positionally and not at all too serious about N'Zogbia.
my thoughts as well....i just dont see it happening

Douglas says it too but I have a hard time thinking we'd make it that easy for them. Ideally (for Ashley) we'd get him on deadline day for cheaper but if that doesn't go to plan, we'll still be in for him.
douglas says what?
