Whatever. I don't really care what Pardew says or what his detractors say, I don't have any agendas. I'm only interested in what the first 11 will look like by Sep 1st.

You're only interested in what the first 11 looks like on September 1st.  I take it you're not going to the Arsenal and Fulham games, or Sunderland away.

  2. To go into a season with no left backs would be inexplicable.

    versatile as fuck

If we can't replace Carroll who we got £35m for, why on earth do people think we'll go and spend money replacing Enrique?

    this

  3. But really I reckon we'll sign only one player and depend a lot on our youth players this season.

seems a fair bet to me mate

an expensive free transfer and tavernier and co getting a spot on the bench

  4. didnt psg deny we'd even tabled a bid last week?

    the soap opera continues

Surely you're not suggesting that we go for players with no intention of actually buying them  :kasper:

of course not :kasper: no-one's that cynical surely?

  5. NEWCASTLE United have been dealt another pre-season blow after Cheick Tiote was forced to pull out of preparations for the friendly with Leeds United this Sunday.

The Chronicle understands that the battling midfielder has a red-tape problem surrounding his visa and must reorganise his pre-season schedule.

The Magpies squad are due to meet up again tomorrow following their long-haul trip home from the United States.

However, Tiote was not on board the flight that set off from Columbus to JFK airport in New York.

Instead he headed for Ghana, with the Ivory Coast Embassy based in Accra, to try to resolve the issue with his visa.

It means that Tiote is currently absent from pre-season training with the Magpies and will instead train in Accra until the situation is resolved. This is not the first time that United have been hit with visa problems this summer.

Boss Alan Pardew was dealt a treble blow when Joey Barton, Nile Ranger and Yohan Cabaye were all denied entry into the United States for this month’s American tour.

However, Tiote is likely to be back on Tyneside once the visa issue is sorted out.

And the former FC Twente star should be back in good time ahead of Sunday-week’s clash with Serie A side Fiorentina.

Meanwhile, Toon defender Ryan Taylor is a doubt for the encounter with Leeds due to a groin problem.

Former Tranmere Rovers and Wigan Athletic star Taylor was hurt on the plastic pitch at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl on Saturday night and walked off the field gingerly.

With Taylor set to be an important squad player this season, Pardew did not want to take any risks.

And Taylor’s lack of involvement is set to continue a little longer until the injury is cleared up.
