Ian W leaving would be like when Hughton got sacked.
  2. "However, the origins of Barton’s unrest stem from contract talks back in January, when he shook hands on a new deal at the club – before changing his mind." /IGNORE
  3. Yes, sold him, not let one of his best players go for free. And got about £6. Ferguson would do what was best for the club and that would be getting rid of Barton, for free if he had to. He fought to keep Rooney because he's one of the only players who he knows he can't replace for a number of reasons. Barton is a player we can't replace for a number of reasons, one being that the transfer window shuts in about a week and another being that there's no obvious replacement available who's in the bargain bin because they've got leprosy, they suffer from a rare medical condition where their feet have been replaced with hands, they're eleven years old, or they've fallen out with their club because of what they've said on twitter and are being allowed to leave on a free. Wait, there is one player like that, in exactly the situation we'd normally be rubbing our hands about, unfortunately it's Barton himself. We can replace Barton. He's had 1 good season in 4. As we've not tried to replace him so far, I'll wait and judge this particular replacement initiative on September 1st. Yeah, we can replace him. We could have replaced Carroll as well. We could replace Enrique. Unfortunately 'can' and 'will' are words which are very far apart at this club. That is true. I do expect a few bids to be put in to replacements however.

  5. Ferguson wouldnt have allowed an outspoken lad like Barton onto a public forum like twitter in the first place, because hes not an idiot. He would more likely have stopped the root of any potential issues & kept a solid player. Hes a good manager. He "let" Rooney on. If a player is worth all the constant bother they bring, they are allowed a certain amount of rule bending. Barton is proving why he is not worth the hassle.

  7. There was talk on here yesterday about the Rooney/Ferguson thing and how he fought to keep Rooney. Ferguson is infamous for getting rid of players who wrong the club in some way. Big players, too. Beckham, Yorke, Stam etc. Even Schmeichel at one point. He'd have sold Barton years ago.
  8. I agree Barton's subsequent actions are not exactly good for his image that he tries to present of being 'with the fans'. However, if the club was run properly this would have never happened. Barton has said a fair few times he wanted to sign a new contract (same with Nolan). What changed is he was told he wasn't getting the contract he wanted so he sticks the knife in.
  9. just accept Shola will be here forever, it makes life a lot less stressful Until he gets on the pitch...

You need a spine to be able to walk. (That sounded like a clever line to me but I don't know if it's medically correct)
  11. I'm not giving Ashley much blame on this one. Barton was on very thin ice before last season and he repaid some of the loyalty back but to continually start fights like he is doing is just moronic and shows himself and the club (ie. the fans) up completely. I really don't think he's worth the bother that ALWAYS follows him. P.S. Yes Joey, we knew everything you're "revealing" years before you "revealed" it. Keegan told us.
  12. What changed between "I wont be discussing the club anymore on here" and "Bye then"? It was only a few hours between them. Maybe he was apologizing earlier in his own little way and the club didn't buy it?
  13. Deleted account? No! I can't work the thing.
  14. Everton haven't just received £35 million... As it stands we're treading water. Nothing so far suggests we're moving up or down. I stand by my statement a few weeks ago that the more Ameobi plays the worse the window/s have been.
  15. Well, we aren't ridiculously light in every department, and we've already signed a number of players. How many signings do you want in one summer? You're quickly turning into the anti-colocho. Grow up. The fact is we aren't "ridiculously light in every department". We're short on numbers at LB and maybe CB, and short on quality in CF. I've never denied that, but the extreme negativity is mental at times. "nearly every department" which is a fair claim. The GK situation isn't as good as people think (Harper is rubbish and Forster is too untested), the defence and up front are 1 transfer/injury away from chaos so we're currently relying a hell of a lot on our amazing injury prevention record holding up. Not much money is needed to alleviate the genuine concern but we're very slowly trying to do it on the cheap.

  17. Captain yesterday. Sweepstakes time. Pick a 1 week period between today and the end of the season in which Pardew confirms they have offered him a new contract. I'll have 3 - 9 October. Winner/nearest guess gets a PM from me containing a sexy prize. If he isn't offered a contract clearly everyone wins.
  18. Why is he saying this now? Strange time to be doing this.

Wouldn't read to much into all that. Pardew is in a constant state of "waiting hopefully".

Colocho's solution is to spread these unfounded rumours around as much as possible. Cannot believe he represents me in anything. This will happen behind the scenes, and if true, the club will need to keep it as quiet as possible. We know this is just a rumour, but what if it is true? Would it be better to put our fingers in our ears and do nothing? I personally believe that publicising these rumours, having people speak out against such plans - whilst contacting the club, seeing where they stand is the most proactive route to take. For arguments sake, lets say the rumours are true. Once it is up, they’ll say its not financially plausible to take it down. We need to get some more information about this installation and enough voices together to urge the club not to go ahead with it (if there are such plans). What would you do? What if they're not true? That's a risk I am willing to take. There's no harm in contacting the club and asking them. There is harm in spreading unfounded rumours though. If you want your group to have any credibility you can't comment on speculation and rumours. Deal with facts only.

Dragging it our for another week and a half then. 6 weeks wasn't long enough.

He hasn't in the past. Good start followed by a sharp decline, mass protests and a sacking is usually the way this works for him.
  25. Milner fee paid for Bent, apparently. So the £37m (?) for Young and Downing will be helping with this summers spend. That's true. The question still stands though. Can't imagine the wage bill % at those 3 clubs is small either.
