We’d struggle to get that if he had a year or 18 months left on his deal. Just a nominal fee/paying up his contract was the original story.

Joelinton on the right of the midfield 3? Hasn’t Willock been pony when he’s played there? Joelinton certainly the more versatile with playing anywhere and being effective. Sometimes 2-3 positions at once

Not sure if it is still the case. As I hardly watch it any more. But La Liga used to almost always be anything that hit your hand/arm was handball, regardless of intent and usually resulted in a yellow Absolutely bonkers. The reason they changed this. Was that VAR was ruling out goals for accidental handball 5-10-15 seconds before a goal. Just proper madness to want that implemented.

If we are going to offer him a new contract. When there is a chance to get his wages off the books and possibly a small fee. Then we really haven’t learnt, have we? 35 and showed over a long spell last season he was not up to par. He has been great of late. But had no saves to make. We need to be upgrading some of our starters and our back ups. Not getting them to stay here even longer

Gary O’Neil and Eddie Howe, apparently I mean. I’ve been critical of Howe this season. But I’m not sure since being linked with West Ham he’s gone backwards as a manager. Plus it’s a strange thing to say off the back of 6 wins in a row, 5th place and in a cup semi. Not good enough. Doesn’t play THE WEST HAM WAY.

Nah. Spurs fans I know say he’s their best player and has been much more effective centrally in a midfield 3. They’d want us much as we would for Bruno. Not a chance.

A lot of nothing in that Athletic piece. But it is quite promising that it seems like certain players wages will soon be off the books. I’ve no interest in understanding all the PSR shite. But seems like we will have some money to spend in the summer and some wiggle room with wages, too. If Lewis, Wilson, Trippier, Almiron, Dubravka and Hayden are all likely to be leaving.

Would be an athletic midfield. Lose a lot with no Bruno. But Willocks legs, along with Tonali’s ability to cover ground and Joelinton’s bull in a china shop routine might work well tonight.

I like Miley. But I find it a bit mad so many people are clamouring for him to start in place of Bruno? He was chucked in before he was ready to be starting regularly last year and whilst he was promising. It was clear he wasn’t quite up to playing meaningful minutes every week. He’s hardly featured this year and this is our biggest game of the season. I’m not even a big fan of Longstaff and Willock is out of form. But I just don’t see Howe playing Miley ahead of those two and nor should he, IMO.

No. I get that and knew you weren’t suggesting he plays as one of the 8s. I just don’t see it at all. I don’t think he is particularly creative with his passing. Not skilful or decent in tight areas. His game is all about running in behind and getting space to go at a fullback 1 v 1. Along with his volume of crosses he’ll chuck in. I’d actually like to see him start to freshen it up and give us someone more clinical in the side. Just not sure who would come out the side. I think it will be the same as Spurs. With Longstaff/Willock in for Bruno. Plus maybe Kelly for Botman if the numbers say he shouldn’t start.

I might be wrong. But I’m sure both this one and Hall’s v Man U have not been classed as assists. But last time I looked. Salah’s v West Ham counted even though it comes off a West Ham player before getting to Gakpo. Fuck knows.
