Was gonna say something similar - which manager would fare considerably better in this situation? Impossible to say, obviously, but I think Eddie can absolutely turn this around. The tactical shift today will hopefully be something we work on and push more for our away games. Genuinely think that once players like Barnes and Willock are back we will see a marked improvement away from home.

Glad he made the tactical switch early, and there were certainly some positives to take from an otherwise dreadful day. What's killing us right now is lack of options in the wide areas. Barnes, Murphy, Willock in and we can be more flexible with our approach. Think it's worth giving Joelinton/Willock rotating mid game on the left another go, and shift Gordon to the right. Once the Joes are back, ofc.

I think our away form has left us with too much to do now. We'd be relying on the likes of Villa and Spurs having monumental drop offs, which I can't really see. Spurs seem to have had their wobble, and Villa look like replicating our season from last year to some degree. I won't give up hope, but we need some big changes to happen in the second half of the season and a lot of luck as well.

Think there's genuine questions about our away form that goes beyond "everyone's fucking knackered." Howe really needs to adapt us to be more threatening. We've hardly had a shot on target against a newly promoted team. That's just shit.
