Yeah- could see a swap for their respective out of contract players- Christensen and Rudiger for Sule (and Ginter from BMG). Apparently Christensen is currently one of the lowest paid at Chelsea on £84k pw and wants it doubling to stay. Could still happen I guess.

Hopefully a few will be going, either permanently or on loan, but failing that, we’d inevitably just have to deregister them and pay them not to play. There’s no way we won’t make further signings.

“Throw enough shit at the wall and some of it will stick”

The link to the player is irrelevant. The part of your statement that people are taking an issue with us you saying about signing world class players. Wealth is only a factor in doing that. With our league position, facilities, etc there’s no chance of any ‘world class’ players coming at the moment, and everyone here except yourself seems to realise and be content with that.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/17406722/chelsea-broja-man-city-southampton-transfer/amp/ sounds like he’s pretty settled in Southampton, if Chelsea ever let him leave permanently.
-
Yes. Under police investigation. They had to release him from bail so that he could go to the AFCON- it’ll resume when he’s back.
-
Still might? There have been plenty of links/rumours.
-
Cmon man- he’s not some demi God, no matter how good he was/is. There’s bound to be a similar/better player (or three) break through in the next few years.
-
The Mail article states: “That valuation, plus Bissouma’s wage demands, have prompted Villa to assess alternatives such as Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara and Rodrigo Bentancur of Juventus”. personally, given the fee and legal issues, I’d much rather we be in for the likes of Kamara.

Oh, he was a great player when he was in the mood/could be arsed- don’t get me wrong. But he would never be a ‘great’ in that he wouldn’t do that week in/out like Messi etc. My point was that we are bound to see a new generation or two of excellent players in the next 5 years and it was daft to say we’ll never see anyone as good as Hatem again.
-
£50m for a player with 18 months left and a police investigation hanging over him? No thanks. Better spent elsewhere.
-
Coming up to 35…there’s no way he’d be here still. Not to mention that despite his age, he hasn’t stayed anywhere very long due to his discipline, or lack of.
-
Of course there will. He’s unique in that there’s only one Ben Arfa, but don’t tell me that there won’t be other Messi/Ronaldo/any other player in the future. If all things go well, we’ll have a damn good chance to see them play for us in their prime. It’s ridiculous to say we’ll never see anyone as talented again.
-
There’ll be plenty more.

Shhh…you’re giving away Luke’s sources…

Zapata would be £30m+ I’d imagine. Plus he’s 31 on April 1st. Cracking player though, and I’d love him here, but think we should be looking younger (or cheaper for the age).
-
No, but he’s had four managers all of very good standard and can seemingly only play for one.
-
He’s had multiple chances to repeat the Kane/Son triumvirate under every manager though, and always failed to deliver. It’s as though he just can’t be arsed these days. Mourinho stated as much when he said he was a lazy player/trainer. It’s nothing to do with choice of manager, but if it is, he’s bang out of luck- if he needs a perfect fit as manager to get anything out of him then he’s currently even worse than I presume. Managers come and go (as they have done for him)- it’s going to be impossible for him unless Poch keeps signing him every time he moves as manager.
-
I just can’t see him as you describe- his figure for goals/assists against his appearances in the last four seasons suggest he’s certainly not ‘lethal in the final third’ at all. You’re judging him on past performances from nearly half a decade ago, and under a single specific manager. Under three decent/world class managers since, he’s failed dismally. He had the chance to have a fresh start under Conte and has just reverted to type as opposed to regaining any semblance of form or ability/attitude.
-
Plus I don’t think him not being sold can be classed as ‘mismanagement’? He’s their commodity at the end of the day. Management is more to do with picking him and his availability for the team so long as he’s their player.
-
Maybe. I got confused about him stating “tough in negotiations like your original post stated” which threw me as I’ve never said anything like that.
-
My original post? Not me, I don’t think? They should’ve sold him a year or two back imo. His stock has fallen so badly they won’t be getting true market value right now. In respect of him being ‘mismanaged’- that’s nothing to do with being sold or not in my opinion. He’s been shite due to his own attitude and hence had limited appearances. That’s not mismanagement. It’s management that’s been perceived the right thing for the team/club.
-
Mismanaged? By Mourinho, Nuno AND Conte? It screams lack of application by the player to get picked rather than mismanagement, imo. His performances when he DOES get picked back this up too- he hardly busts a gut and makes it impossible to drop him.

We’ve never been credited with a bid….unlike Burnley. Wonder why he didn’t go there….? ??♂️??
