  1. Cisse was bought 10 years ago man. That £10m fee would probably be around £30-40m now. Azmoun might well be £5m, but for all you know we may have tried and he not want to come. For your Perez example re: high profile etc, we have been linked a lot with the likes of Mavididi- neither high profile, nor PL experience, and yet still £15m which is pretty much what the going rate for a £3m 2014 Perez would be…

    Diego Carlos

Plus Uduokhai, Szalai, Schlotterbeck, Badiashile, Senesi, Bremer etc etc…
  3. His injury is potentially fine in one or two weeks. Plus ‘prefers’ is infinitely more than acceptable over ‘would only move to a CL club’. Seems ok to me?
  4. Interest in CM’s? Attempting to sign players for several positions simultaneously? Loan enquiries launched? Surely not - loads on here have said we’re doing none of those things…

Sawiris has a £6.8bn fortune, and the other American owner (Eden?) has about £1bn.

    His agent deffo was.
  8. Nah, no different from anywhere else. If you’re good enough, mentally for the PL as well as technically, then you’ll be fine. Firmino, Son, Sane, De Bruyne, Aubameyang etc have all done pretty well!
  9. This. He’ll go for Havertz/Werner+ kind of money.

Back in for Schlotterbeck too, possibly.
  11. Lol…sarcasm. I was only messing.
  12. Can’t take American hype seriously. They’ve produced no one decent since Cobi Jones.
  13. Get what you’re saying, but in our current situation I’d rather the bloke with the task of training and improving our squad gets the say on who he wants in order to get us out of this shit. It’s solely on his head then, instead of being able to blame a DOF or whatever. In the summer, providing we stay in the division, we can look to a DOF to lead us towards a way of playing style etc.
  14. We’ve been linked with loads of midfielders. There have been journo tweets today saying we’ll get one. I’m pretty confident we’ll get one in before the end of the window.
  15. This. He was derided by most for his previous career exploits, yet now he’s gone, it’s “worrying”.

No chance. He wanted to come to us and his club won’t let him. There’s no way he’d end up with you as Carlos’ replacement. I couldn’t see you guys paying what they want for a start, let alone what Botman would want in wages after he’s already been given the heads up about what he could earn with us.

Bet you that if he does leave in this window, you won’t get Botman as his replacement.

No. It just means that they’d be more agreeable to selling him (at a price they want).
  19. I think it was all good until Reims said they wanted him loaned back…and 30% of any future sale….and £30m now…
  20. I’ve noticed there’s been a lot of background chatter about Nunez over the last few days. Fingers crossed he’s one that we’re keeping under wraps.

Unless Sevilla decide to turn his request down for fear of Trensa and his mates, or we don’t offer enough cash for them to purchase a replacement etc.
  22. “L’Équipe report that Marseille have been hit with a two-window transfer ban in the wake of the Pape Gueye’s four-month suspension for signing a contract with Watford before joining OM soon after in 2020. The club will have to pay the Premier League side €2.5m as well, although the transfer ban, which would take effect in the summer, will be appealed by Marseille in front of the Court of Arbitration for Sport. As a result, the ban is likely to be a suspended sentence, with the OM management expecting a decision in the next three to six months. Club president Pablo Longoria is said to be optimistic about the situation, meanwhile Watford are also taking the case to the CAS as they were hoping for a €10m sum in compensation.”
