  1. Was Kepa that prick who refused to be substituted?

Just log off for the next 11 days. You’ll feel much better.

Are you deliberately being obtuse? You have no factual evidence to support your theory that we’re NOT currently in for a CM right now, other than not hearing about it. Yet I’ve posted several links to say the club are ACTIVELY looking to get at least one.

But lots of journalists are reporting we have been linked with and bid for CMs, yet for some reason you want to ignore those reports. As I’ve posted several times. Yet you persist with your ‘opinion’ that goes against this. Therefore your opinion is only based on those reports that suit your personal narrative and is worth nothing if you’re not taking into account everything available to you.

And yet you don’t quote any ‘facts’ at all.

It’s impossible to say that transfer inactivity has ‘cost us two points against Watford’. It’s all totally hyperthetical- a player we signed before the game may have cost us the point we achieved, or may well have got injured before half time. I’ve already pointed out to you that the club are looking to get at least one CM. Howe has been identified as one of three or four individuals who are specifically in charge of our current transfer activity. Your presumption doesn’t match the facts that have been presented, for whatever reason.
  7. Or else certain other clubs and agents are ‘leaky’ and other clubs and agents are less so. No one knows for sure.

No, you’re not right, you’re just presuming because you’ve seen nothing specific in the media that fits your agenda. Neither of us have any idea what moves we’re making for a CM, but it appears that we’re aware of the need and that we have, or are currently, trying to sign one or more.
  9. from The Athletic yesterday: “Let’s start with the business they still want to do — which positions are they actively looking to strengthen? Come February 1, ideally, Newcastle will have signed — on top of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood — two new centre-backs, a left-back, at least one central midfielder and another forward, while even a goalkeeper addition has not been ruled out.” “While a regular criticism of Lee Charnley, the previous managing director, was that multiple deals were rarely negotiated at the same time, Newcastle’s recruitment team have been attempting to sign players for several positions simultaneously.” “In midfield, beyond Lingard, several ambitious loan enquiries have been launched for, among others, Donny van de Beek at Manchester United, and Georginio Wijnaldum and Idrissa Gana Gueye at Paris Saint-Germain, to no avail yet. There is, though, a realisation that players are more likely to move on loan towards the end of January, so there is hope quality temporary signings can still arrive. Todd Cantwell is also liked by Newcastle, though Norwich City’s asking price will need to drop for a deal to be reached. RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara, Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara and Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes have also been scouted extensively.”

  11. Yes he is? or do you mean on account of his Charlie Adams like face?
  12. I won’t be happy until I see brick outhouse Carlos clatter into the back of Shelveys baldy heed on a defensive clearance, sending the ball and the prick out of the ground together…
  13. I know. So it seems it’s hard to even get decent ‘contacts’ let alone actual appointments.
  14. That’s just unrealistic imo. Someone who wanted to come three years ago (Rafa?) is more than likely someone who won’t be able to come three years later. People won’t hang on that long just in case. ‘Contacts’…like Hammond, McParland etc can’t magic an available DoF.

    Ake - £40m Sissoko - £30m Pickford and Ramsdale - £25m
  16. Gosens is class. But much more of a LWB/LW than a FB. We’d definitely be going 5 at the back if we got him.
  17. There’s critiquing and there’s saying the consortium are responsible for our pending relegation.
  18. Probably did three or four years ago when they first wanted to buy the club. And then the Masters shitshow happened and people they were in contact with got other jobs etc. Are you expecting them to have ongoing potential appointments in place for all those years just in case the PL rushed it through as they did?

The Athletic said yesterday that we have negotiated for multiple players at the same time so please don’t get too annoyed on that point.
  20. That’s fair enough, but presumably the club have been given encouragement for the purchase, or what they believe the selling clubs would sell for, from the players representatives. It’s not great, but I don’t think we’ve done much wrong (unless you believe the rumours about CL clauses etc).
  21. This is the thing though. The consortium (not PIF) will take a percentage of blame. For not signing 3,4,5 players who MIGHT not get injured, who MIGHT score us goals, who MIGHT shore up our defence…but if they don’t, that percentage in the grand scheme of things is minutely insignificant compared to the percentage of our club being run into a literal shell, with ZERO staff, ZERO scouting network, piss poor training and medical facilities, a dirty stadium, a dog shit squad etc etc etc. if the consortium don’t sign further players (im sure that they will) then they’ll take SOME blame, but it’s fuck all compared to where any anger or bitterness should be getting directed. Yet because they’re the current owners, they’re the ones who are fronting it all for the impatient and whining fans.
  22. Dignes ‘pretty decent’ £25m was for a player who was being ostracised and not picked by his then manager. He had openly stated he didn’t want to play for the club/manager again. Everton had already signed his replacement and needed the funds for that. If he was playing regularly there’s no way he’d have gone for 25m. Decent premier level strikers are going to cost way over £10m man, unless you unearth an absolute hidden gem that the other European teams worldwide extensive scouting networks have somehow missed or you take a chance on an injury crock coming good etc.
  23. Your prices are way out for a player of Cisse’s quality 10 years after the time we signed him.
