Don’t know- was just reading through this earlier… “there are other elite strikers of the same generation who have better conversion rates, such as Lewandowski (91%), Harry Kane (86%) and Ibrahimovic (85%).” https://www.messivsronaldo.app/detailed-stats/penalties/#google_vignette
-
78% conversion rate- he’s missed 31 and scored 108.

Allegedly assaulted his ex after she caught him engaged in ‘romantic liaisons’ with another girl in her bathroom, and then had to live with Nolan as part of his bail conditions. Whilst living there, he had his Range Rover torched on the driveway and Nolan had his garage graffitied.

Let’s see if it happens first…
-
Or announced the free signing of Greenwood and parade him on the pitch…
-
Sounds bizarre. Surely your ticket had the seat number on, and their ticket for the seat wouldn’t have the correct match details on- just a case of someone not checking correctly, I guess. But if theirs didn’t have the right details, how did they get in anyway, and as you say, where did they get moved to? Big fuckup somewhere, for sure.

Sounded like Hall was the last one to me, other than the injury scenario.
-
Of course it wasn’t consensual (have you heard the audio?) and of course he shouldn’t play for their club again, but as we all know, football is a multi BILLION £ industry. It’s got to that point by ignoring where it comes from, the views of the fans on the whole, and the only thing the industry and owners care about is greed and making more money. Greenwood is just a prime example of that- morality and what SHOULD be done goes out of the window. It’s a consideration certainly, but only in that it might affect the earning power of the club going on.
-
Have you read the quote from The Athletic directly above? Ten Hag is “supportive and encouraging” of Greenwood’s return to the team. You’re presuming things about Ten Hag regarding his moral compass that aren’t there.
-
“It included guidance on how head coach Ten Hag should respond to the highly sensitive questions that would be expected during press conferences following Greenwood’s return and how, after a certain period of time, he should begin to talk about Greenwood as though he is a regular member of the playing squad. Both Ten Hag and the club’s football director, John Murtough, are supportive and encouraging of Greenwood’s return.” https://theathletic.com/4786779/2023/08/18/mason-greenwood-manchester-united-charities/

The asset is worth what his performances on the pitch bring- goals, improved positions, cup runs, and as a result improved finances. I’m not talking about transfer fees. To replace him would cost the club multi millions, on top of him going for zero- the club would lose financially both ways. It’s been reported Ten Hag has no issues with Greenwood returning to the team- he hasn’t ‘been forced’ to accept him back.
-
The reason the club are terrified to sack him is because they would be giving away a multi million £ asset for nothing and would go against their financial principles - it’s nothing to do with fear of being sued.
-
Me too. Reminds me of my 86 Mexico World Cup ball (I think?!) I played with as a bairn.
-
But Liverpool are still a huge club with amazing facilities and coaching setup. They also pay big wages. Why wouldn’t a player go there if they pay the fee? Your take is a little bizarre. Are you suggesting he should’ve gone to Real Madrid etc? They obviously weren’t interested.
-
Don’t know why you seem to be obsessed with transfer conspiracies? Clubs pay what they think players are worth- sometimes they get them for even less via clauses. Other teams don’t sign them for a variety of reasons- they don’t want/need them, can’t afford them, the player doesn’t want to move there. There are no big ‘behind the scenes’ deals being made in secret.
-
Wouldn’t say they’re weaker. Just got De Bruyne injured- it happens. Plus although he’s still world class, he didn’t play every game last year and wouldn’t have made every game before this long term injury either. They’ve brought in Gvardiol and lost Mahrez. Kovacic is like for like to Gundogan.
-
Forgot De Bruyne. Maybe then, but can’t see them paying what West Ham are asking this year for some reason. He wouldn’t be a Mahrez replacement imo.
-
Kovacic for Gundogan. Who else left? edit- Mahrez? Can’t see Paqueta being a replacement for him?
-
He’ll go next year imo. His clause for £85m only kicks in then, supposedly, and they’ll just wrap it up quickly I reckon. They haven’t the need to splash that money this summer, and I guess West Ham are asking for even more than the £85m.
-
No. Worrying tbh.
-
Ah, great- will have to see if I can find the info ?
-
Why won’t we be including them this year if they’re still here? They’ve still got 2/3 years left to go, and the accounts will show that?
