  1. jesus when he was at west ham, he was on a pay-as-you-play based contract. thats how dodgy his knee was perceived at the time.
  2. i doubt he has a release clause. but iwouldn't rule it out. he wanted a release clause with the hammers as they were relegated into the championship. West ham wanted him more than he wanted them thus he had the upper hand of demanding the clause. signing for newcastle, i believe he wanted us at the time, more than we wanted him as not many bigger clubs demanded him then,. so i doubt he would have risked the transfer falling through by demanding a release clause. but that's just my take on it, it wouldn't completely surprised me if the clause was included. who knows, until pard confirms anything.
  3. http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Kevin+Nolan+Newcastle+United+v+Aston+Villa+uTMcMdO4EvIl.jpg yep he's definately standing on the top end of the slope lol
  4. barton 5"11 maybe? if carroll is 6"3? http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Kevin+Nolan+Newcastle+United+v+Aston+Villa+wylqATuXPBFl.jpg oh i forgot our pitch is on a slope remember lol barton is clearly staning on the top end
  5. i think nolan is bigger than 6ft , more like 6ft 1.5 inch? http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Kevin+Nolan+Newcastle+United+v+Bolton+Wanderers+e_ynf3WY1Mxl.jpg http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Kevin+Nolan+Bolton+Wanderers+v+Newcastle+United+KMKJ-2g8ggml.jpg i know the bolton keeper isnt standing straight but neither is nolan, and the keeper is listed 6ft3.
  6. nolan has always been a deceptively tall lad, because he's fat and round, in the distance he don't look tall. another reason why he played off carroll, very useful when we lauched the ball long, it was like having two big strikers up there to win the headers.
  7. people always add 2 inches on their height.
  8. must be some bullshit there, if thats the case why has smith been allowed near the bench that many times?
  9. This. Its amazing the differing opinions yet we all watched the same match. He was lazy, made no effort to run the channels or create space for himself or others, his first touch was s****, his hold up play was inconsistent. The only good thing he done in the entire game was the flick on. Best, for me, is streets ahead of him. Or should be. exactly thats why i get bemused about how much stick Best get, when he came on everyone can see just how far ahead technically Best is. 9/10 times when the ball goes to Best he makes it stick, he's way ahead of even Demba when it comes to that type of play.
  10. i agree, but i didnt want to have a go, so soon after a victorious night.
  11. i know, but how small of a bid do you think our board would accept? 2 or 3 million?, that's if shola would be willing to leave which i doubt. and he only just signed a new contract a few months back if im not mistaken. Bless the guy, he's a top fella, and has never given us any trouble, but he's just a very limited striker.
  12. west ham hates us, they will try to squeeze as much money out of ashley. which wont happen, because ashley will not pay over the odds lol karren brady writes, "You'll remember Demba, the one who walked out on West Ham to join Newcastle? Before he walked, we were discussing a new deal and his agents wanted a buy-out clause. We never got that far. I often wonder if he managed to get that in his Newcastle deal. If he did, I hope Demba shows them more loyalty than he did to David Sullivan, who took a chance on him in the first place." a very bitter hammer she is. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4029368/Karren-Bradys-football-diary.html
  13. having shown a decent perfomance last night and getting loads of coverage. you think maybe someone would come in for him maybe like a 4 million bid from a team below us?? would be amazing!
  14. guthrie is an incredible passer of the ball, if not the best in our entire squad. his set plays are very good aswell. thats probably two things he has over tiote. hope he gets his new contract with us. can't wait to see a trio of cabaye guth and tiote in our midfield.
  15. because we did them up the arse
  16. still like him replaced eventually, he's alright for now. like someone said before me, he's very limited on the ball.
  17. because we did them up the arse
  18. 20 miilion for just 2 years??? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/8990960/Newcastle-United-and-Virgin-Money-agree-a-new-20m-shirt-sponsorship-deal.html?
  19. can we have some 'Football Manager' stats up please
  20. this is going to be so easy for fergie basically all manutd got to do is stop raylor from crossing the ball. thats our only threat, other than, colo and simpson launching it long acasionally from defense.
  21. listen i aint got no problem with launching the ball long to two big men upfront but i do when one of them is shola who cant win headers to save his life never mind holding up the ball. i got no problems with HBA on the bench but i do have a problem with shola starting
  22. when alan pardew says "we gonna attack them" that means launch the ball long all night long. lets see if it works as good vs man utd, as it did vs swansea, norwich , west brom lol
  23. cabaye wont be seeing that ball much becuase its going to lofted over his head. we might aswell play a 4-1-5 formation.
