  1. Did we not have one shot on first half? We did. Thought we might had, but i can't quite recall what it looked liked.
  2. he's telling the truth, he clearly sounds like he's bored out of his wits. Can you blame the guy.
  3. there's still another 45 mins of paint dry action mate. You never know what can happen.
  4. We started a several games well last season, then it turns to shit after ten minutes. Same will happen today.
  5. It's not a vaild criticism of a bloke who's in a job he doesn't deserve and knows it. It is a vaild criticism of a man with some self respect. I don't really see it. He knows he has a great opportunity here and he's fitting in with the system in order to make a go of it. I don't see what's wrong with that. Un f***ing believable Great contribution as always Jack. As I've said many times, there are loads of things to criticise Pardew for, but not walking away is not one of them. So he has landed a job he probably isn't good enough for? What should he do, not try and give it a go? It's not like he's going to get a job as big as ours again. It's a good point, not many men would turn the job down and certainly wont toss it away. He is highly paid, high profile position, his name is in the media. So what if his job ultimately includes deceiving the fans and the players. They are certainly dirtier jobs out there.
  6. Any chance of a recap? Saw something in someone's sig but I haven't seen anything else depressing. Was he a credible ITK though? The calling of Pardew makes Golfmag a very credible ITK, probably the best ever. I do find it hard to get hold of the reducing of costs/wages etc. I just don't think he has any say in that. Other than that.... He's the direct link between the players and the board so he has a massive say tbh. It's pretty widely accepted that Hughton was sacked because he was too pally with the players and would stick up for them when needed. What Golf Mag said fits, Pardew was brought in and given the best job he'll ever have because he's willing to do whatever the owner says, even at the cost of his own squad. He'd love to keep his players and for Mike to spend some cash but he'll not kick up a fuss about it. Although I'm not sure everything Golfmag says is the truth. But Pardew is here for a certain reason, and that is what made me laugh out loud when some people on here actually thought there was a chance of Pardew walking due to the re-introduction of JFK.
  7. Pardew benching Cisse, yeah right.
  8. Sticking up for him again, can you not see what virtually everyone else does ?. It's not just Pardew - from head to toe Newcastle United are small time - and there's a reason for that. Pardew is a factor, in the same sense a single drop of rain is a factor in a storm. But people are too short sighted and spiteful which is why f*** all gets done about it. So I'll laugh at all the childish, spiteful reactions all I like. You are correct there is small time thinking throughout, absolutely right. But Pardew is the one who should be different, he shouldn't be talking like we're a League two side who should be lucky, even if he knows (i think he does) what's going on behind the scenes, his defeatist drivel is destroying performances, that and he's simply a very poor manager. It's not spiteful to react to such utter nonsense from OUR manager who is giving us the worst football i can ever remember, yet telling us we played well and threatened Man City, when the reality was we could and should have been 5-0 down. Or we threatened yesterday, yet had no shots on target at all, and haven't scored at home for 4 games. The man lies, whether knowingly or not to us constantly. So please do we not have a right to be angry at such actions. If Pardew didn't do these things he wouldn't have a job. Look at the bigger picture - you're right to moan - but I reserve my right to laugh. Pardew is taking us down with his football and mentality, you can call it moaning, i prefer to call it worrying. You laugh away, what else can you do. Nothing mate. Or can we? I don't really know anymore. His mentality comes from above or he wouldn't have a job - simple as that. He's tried his best to deflect attention onto Kinnear but he's got nowhere. If we'd got a few players in his mentality would change. He's a limited manager with his hands tied behind his back - we're screwed.
  9. And people are surprised players like Cabaye cannot wait to get the hell away from nufc.
  10. Depends how much the fans demand transfers. Ashley probably see's arsenal with lots of money & a time limit/pressure to use it, they've recognised Cabaye as one place to spend & he'll be relying on that pressure increasing as the days go. thing is though is they really don't need him, Wilshire, Ramsey, Cazorla, and Rosicky for the more creative positions, Arteta and soon enough Flamini for the more defensive position in their side. So why in gods name would they spend in or around £20m for him when there is other positions they do actually need players for. Exactly, Ashley is waiting on PSG because of the silly money they have not Arsenal.
  11. We all know that. But they would increase their chance of a move if they hand in a request much like Benteke did. Lucky for Villa they managed the courtesy of granting him a new lucrative contract to convince him to stay. If Cabaye really is that desperate as 'downing tools.' I won't be surprised at all if he eventually puts in the request.
  12. players they don't do that anymore, costs them a fair wad of cash They still do that. Didn't Benteke hand in a transfer request? He ended up getting a pay rise with a new contract, cost him nothing.
  13. Think he would had handed in a transfer request before he downed tools. We know Pardew and Co. would not had hesitated to divulged had a request been submitted.
  14. Pardew told BBC Sport: "If it is a situation where he leaves the football club, we have got to be stronger. "That's my aim when the window shuts. That little bit of guile that Cabaye gives us, we didn't have today, and that was probably the difference."
  15. We've dealt with the hammers long balls a lot better than I expected, those few days working on stopping the opposition are finally paying off.
  16. The Arsenal fans I know just can't understand the move for Cabaye at all. In terms of other priorities, cover in the middle etc. Strange one. It's the same with the ones I know as well. They see him as a squad player. You can see where they are coming from. He is not a player they desperately need, when they already have Wilshire , Ramsey etc who can play that position. Only reason Wenger was interested is probably due to how injury prone his players are.
